cz 858 hmmm

The CZ is not the same as an AK but the two are very similar visually. Why the hate on for the CZ AK comparison?

Because it's comparisons like this that can lead to the CZ joining the AK in restricted or prohibited classification. Guns have been banned simply for looking like AR's, with no other justification, no similarity in design of mechanism.

I've never understood the logic of people who say "Why is Gun A being restricted, when Gun B looks just like it and is not restricted? Not fair, not fair!" The next move for the antis or the RCMP (essentially the same people) is not to de-restrict Gun A...it's to restrict Gun B as well, closing another "loophole" and making all of us "safer".

Well then lets just all go ahead and say that the Norinco M14's have nothing to do whatsoever with the Prohibited M1A's because it will make it true.

Retarded Logic. :slap:

So is the FSN 01 a better gun than the 858 ? What say you all ? It doesnt matter to me if its retricted or not. Then theres the vz58...boy oh boy, they all seem the same. Seems some of the 858 models have a trigger clitch from what I just read. WITCH GUN DO YOU PICK ???

Mines black and a folder, it does rattle but that's due to tolerances so it allows the bolt carrier to move back without having to be exactly perfect, Its part of its design nothing bad, just a price to pay for having such and easy rifle to maintain.

After aquiring my 858 my sks lives in the safe. I find the recoil less on the 858 as well as muzzle rise. I have a fabsports forend and grip on it and am adding an ace skeleton stock to it tomorrow. I take the cz 858 over the sks every day of the week. It is also way more accurate.

hey redddogg69, how is that ace stock? You put it on yet???????

Just installed it. I am going to take it out later tonight to see how it feels. I mounted it in the lowest position as i found this gives a nice cheek weld and view of the iron sights.

the difference:

Sks is much cheaper made, should have been better made and the CZ is much more accurate...!

There.... I fixed that post for you. Anyone who's actually shot both a CZ 858 and an SKS knows they aren't even comparable. The CZ is beyond reliable and I get incredible accuracy from mine even shooting milsurp ammo. The actual fit is very good with the fixed stock model in unaltered form and produces very good sight alignment.

BTW I actually like the beaver puke stock. :D

Well after hours of research I have gained a ton of knowlege on these rifles. So far the best deal sounds like" Wolverine" for price. And you get your choice of stock for the same price ,..if I'm reading the add correctly. Comes with extra mags ETC. I have heard all positive things about them as well. This was on the cz 858-2 non restriced.

You got it. I like a good cheek weld so my preference is the full stock gun.

I find them far better than the SKS in every way. Fit/finish all the way through to shooting.

I find SKS' awkward to shoot and aim, whereas the CZ just feels good. They're easy to shoot and maintain and just plain look better.

To each his own, I like the SKS and it works for me, and was inexpensive!
I have hunting rifles that shoot half MOA and I was just looking for a military
rifle to shoot cans at 50 yards, and for camp defence at night. I'm sure the
CZ is a lot of fun as well, but none of these old milsurp guns are going to
shoot half MOA, they're for fun, and that's how we should enjoy them! :)
