cz 858 hmmm

There.... I fixed that post for you. Anyone who's actually shot both a CZ 858 and an SKS knows they aren't even comparable. The SKS is beyond reliable and I get incredible accuracy from mine even shooting milsurp ammo. The actual fit is wayyyyyy better than that of the CZ 858 as well. The Sks is very good in unaltered form and produces outstanding sight alignment.

BTW the CZ stock looks like the beaver puke stock. :D

here broth, fixed it for you....

polaris I love the re-work!
I was waiting for you to also post a picture of a Uni-Corn too but I have to still believe I guess.
Comparing these 2 rifles are more like comparing apple's to orange's. Some people prefer orange's will others prefer apple's. Me I am a fruit so I like them booth.
:p
Seriously though one design is for people prefer pistol grip with magazines. While the other 1 is more of a traditionalist rifle design with stripper clips. It all comes down to what you prefer.

I own two Russian SKS and one CZ-858. The Czech rifle gets all the range time.

Well then lets just all go ahead and say that the Norinco M14's have nothing to do whatsoever with the Prohibited M1A's because it will make it true.

Retarded Logic. :slap:

I know this topic is about the 858 vs SKS or AK, but when did they prohibit the M1A? ;)

the real m14 is prohibited

I realize that, I was just pointing out the false reference to the M1A being prohibited. Hence the ;) at the end.

Sheesh, some people just jump at the chance to use the 'ol facepalm.

The CZ and AK are completely different designs. No interchangeable parts. Different countries of origin. Etcetera.

It's like calling a Ford a Fiat because they're both from capitalist countries, and are cars.

Cheers,
GMC

Dude, I know. What I meant is the government's hate-on for an AK is more to do with looks and media rather than internal parts of the semis even with all the hoopla about converting back to full. Since the CZ looks like an AK (short stroke long stroke regardless). All these semis we are allowed to have can by no means be called an Assault Rifle, and the sooner the public is truly informed the better, but it's humorous non the less. Anyway it was a side shot and not meant to divert the thread.

The beaver puke and grey paint grow on you.

After a couple of years of bashing it around, and 3-4 crates of ammo through it, it will still look the same as when you bought it.

Ugly as sin, and tough as Beelzebub himself.. .

They are solid carbines. The ergos are much, much better than the AK series. The design is, IMO, superior. It is virtually impossible to get any of the usual stoppages: double feeds? no. FTFs? the bolt and carrier are half the weight of the rifle, that bullet is going in that chamber. FTEs? only if your chamber is ####ed. The extractor rips rims off the brass rather than fail to pull anything out.

Should you manage to get a malf (and I have only accomplished this through intentionally inducing them) the whole top half of the rifle opens up every time the gun cycles. There is no finger ####ing of ejection ports, no ripping out mags and feeling around for problems in the magwell...when the bolt is back the gun is more open than the home net at Air Canada center. You would literally have to be either a first-line Leafs forward or a third or fourth line defenseman from any other team not to be able to work with the amount of empty space there.

They are obviously not refined the way the AR has become over time...they were really only fielded by the Czechs to my knowledge and consequently have not had the backing of a dozen first-world militaries to iron out issues and improve the system. But for a cheap-to-run, cheap-to-buy, easy-to-operate, highly durable, highly reliable carbine, I don't think they have any competition in this country.

And if you tailor them to your demands with the help of Neit and NEA...they are a serious ass-kicker.
