Can't someone make a 3 sided 1913 machined LOWER hanguard for the CZ-858 without an upper rail that may or may not hold zero?
I want to run an offset VFG and a light. That's it. Nice and solid, no plastic, no wobble. Designed from the ground up with that purpose in mind. No extra grooves, latches, bells or whistles. Then I can choose my flavor of upper handguard, factory or plastic.
I have read the reviews of some of the rails, produced by some obviously very talented people, and wonder if they aren't fighting an uphill battle for nothing? I don't believe a removable handguard can hold a zero. Especially how it has to mate up on a CZ. The CZ/VZ is a light, reliable, effective firearm, why not build accessories that enhance it's strengths, as opposed to trying to fix a perceived weakness?
Don't get me wrong, I would love to run an dot on my CZ with a co-witness, (if it was practical) but not at the expense of my iron sights, and not if I have any doubt about my zero! I would rather be a tenth of a second slower with irons but dead on, than slightly faster and off my POA. Am I the only one who feels this way?
Please don't take this as a slight to those who have invested time, money and effort into this endeavor, just voicing an opinion that may be shared by others looking for a similar product...or maybe I'm just the only one in step again
