Im sure this has come up but search no work good.
If you can buy a vz 58 pistol in canada why are the mags not pinned to ten.

better answer........the mags would have to be designed for a pistol........there therefore vz58 mags being origionally designed for a rifle would not work ........if you look at the 10 round ar mags they visually look different from a ar rifle mag .

get it ?

ok i get it. lol sorry for asking.

I read the titled and got excited.

Sadly we'll never see 10 rounds in these rifles unless we buy the AR mag adapters.

I'll stick with my 4 pinned CZ mags tho personally.

So, just to dig through through all the speculation. IS there a VZ pistol specific magazine in production anywhere? Would this be available in the US? It would obviously have to be different than the standard VZ mags and be classified and sold as a "pistol Magazine". Which would mean the packaging would have to say pistol, not rifle.

If this was available outside canada I dont see any reason an importer couldnt just bring the mags in. Is there a law that says you can only sell magazines in canada for guns currently available in canada? Or can you import mags for guns we dont currently have? Ive never read anything that says yes or no.

BUT... if the mags are NOT listed as strictly for a pistol... if they are a generic "multi purpose" magazine the point is moot as they will be limited to 5.

Yes, actually there is a law that says the pistol must be "readily available" in Canada for the pistol mags to be useable. The reason the 7.5 Vz is sold as a pistol in the US is to get around the US laws, which state that anything with a barrel shorter than 16" and a shoulder stock is a "Short Barrelled Rifle (SBR)" and must pay a transfer tax and be registered. A pistol with a butstock is pretty much a no go in the US.

Interesting. Thats the important info we needed about the gun... no gun, no go. Either way, no one has yet stated for sure if a "pistol" specific mag exists or not. Thats question 2.

Its designed for both rifle and pistol so it would be 5 rounds if it was only made for the pistol (Designed and manfactured for) then it would be 10.

Also just because in the us no stock means it's a pistol isn't the same as in Canada as some pistols in the states are considered rifles up here and vise versa diffren't class system.
