ive never had that rifle in my hands.. and im asking myself if the CZ-858 mags are they professionnaly pinned and welded to 5 or they are just pop-riveted like the majority of the AK mags ?

Pop rivets are fine...you should politely request that the constanble in question would be better off ''making love to the dog!", rather than blowing it out of his a**!.
Get a copy of the regs and 'politely' agree to disagree with his lamea** interpretation.....

Don't suppose the 5/30 M15 mags are pop-riveted? Welded? I got a couple coming and I'm curious.

Pinion,
My M305/M14 mags were pop riveted. I've only seen riveted mags on other M305's also.

Thanks for the quick response! Are these rivets very noticeable? Would be nice if the mags didn't look like they were pinned.:D

It would be nicer for you if they did look like they were in compliance with the law. An obvious rivet might save you a hassel.

The mags I got with my 858 have a brass rivet through the rear protrusion. They are quite noticable, but they don't look bad.

Some Norinco M14 mags have a skirt on the bottom of the follower that restricts them to 5 rounds (from 20). The real test for mags is this, take a mag and six appropriate rounds, if they all fit it's illegal. If you have one left over, it's
not. The CFC made reference to this in their recent letter to Demented, something along the lines that since it's illegal to convert them they would accept a rivet, even though it's reversible. If an officer wants to have a problem with you they will, there's nothing you can do about it - just see them in court.
