CZ 858 Optics Mounting

Does the mount attach to the side of the rifle? I believe the VZ has a factory mounted plate installed already but the CZ 858 needs to have one installed. From what I've read the side wall thickness isn't very thick and threading it isn't a good option. Also, does the front sight interfere with the red dot type of optic?

It attaches to the top of the rail. It's basically a handguard system.

The scope I put on it. The front sight shows up pretty good but at the bottom of the scope and not much of a distraction so it doesn't bother me.

I watched this fellow shooting his 858 at the Vintage Match. It caught my eye. I took a closer look.

It was a BC Tactical base mounted on the old rear sight location. He had a little Burris Fastfire on it. It looked like a real solid mount system.

you can drill and tap into the receiver no problem, its a heavy duty milled receiver. no problem. i have a ak rail mounted on my cz 858 for a posp 3x9x42 and a nvrs yukon tactical nv scope.

never had the nv scope mounted on it yet so i dont know how it will perform with the weight of the scope, since im still waiting for it

Hi,
i ve the same "problem" than you ... have you found a solution to install a rail with a posp scope on your 858 ?
Thanks a lot

Lots of ways, but I would never, in a billion years, replace the rear sight with anything. If you optic goes down, you are SOL. best case, can't shoot at the range, worst case, you are royally screwed.

I'm planning on going with a BC tactical rail and a Vortex SPARC. NEA also has railed handguards.

BTW you can get the Fab Defense handguard cheaper from Zahal in Israel believe it or not (when taxes and shipping are factored in).

I'm also looking at options to mount a scope on my CZ, and already have the FAB Defense VZ 58/CZ 858 Polymer Rail System. The only problem is the scope is too far away to properly see through it, is there a scope that would better for this (an completely agree with leaving the rear sight alone!).
