Hey all
Just thought I would post my first attempt into the world of mods!!
This is a little bubba but here it is!

So first I started with an old foregrip I have , painted with some good ol
tremclad flat black and a $12 picatiny rail that was supposed to fit on my cq-311 but wouldnt so well you will see its new home.

Next my very technical way of placing the pilot holes.

One of the holes was not straight but i still made it work with some drill shaving of the holes!!

End Result is:

Also added was the pistol grip painted black as well as the top cover.

Next was my attempt at a mount for optics , it didnt turn out the best but looks cool!!

There was alot of messing around trying to get the rain on this , the screws were to short ! I wont wanna make you cringe so I wont tell you how or what I did to make it fit!
End result is:

One more pic for good times!!

Just curious. Did you put any washers on the inside of the foregrip, or a metal plate drilled out to match the holes in the "wood"? The finished product looks quite neat and tidy.

Thank you , I didnt use any washers or plates , I just screwed it all together , the screws that came with the rail had what looked like a built in washer type deal! It is really solid no movement or anything!

not bad .... why did you use tremclad instead of bed liner ?

Well honestly tremclad was what I had in the garage.
Isn't bedliner textured? I have heard of other guys using that stuff but always wondered if it is textured cause then wouldnt the finish be rough?

I used textured Krylon for all my "wood" Pieces, turned out alot better than I thought, I like that textured look and it kinda gives a lil grip feeling to it.

Curtton, what brand of bed liner do you use? Does it come in a spray can, or do you need to use a gun? (I have some Tremclad but it's Blaze Orange, so I thought I'd go and buy some bed liner......)

i never did one but i did investigate it and i manage to buy a stock that was already done and i was pretty impressed with it .... check out cdn tire , EZ liner $10 spray can (auto section) .... BTW , sand the red stock first before applying .

Nice job! Yeah the bedliner in the can from crappy tire is perfect for a LOT of stuff! I keep a couple of cans in the shed all the time. Get 3-4 cans when it always seems to go on sale every mounth or so.

That doesn't look bubba'd at all!

Thanks , I am for sure going to get some bedliner , I have also been looking at Krylon but can't seem to find the colors I want!!
I think all the gunnutz must have bought all the greens and military colors haha!

Yeah you really have to sand the old red stock pretty good! i sanded it alot and could still see what only i can explain as a rice like look after i painted it.
