Any new products waiting to be eaten up by vz owners? I like the looks of the Czech built unit that replaces the dust cover, are they any good for holding and retaining zero? Are they fairly pricey? Can't convert czech to dollars. Anyone know of anything else other than Cantilever, or side mount?
Not a big fan of forward mounting as i would need to upgrade parts I already have upgraded from stock. I have been steady with iron sights but the eyes are getting a little older and could use help!

The railed dust coveris VERY expensive for what it is. I seems like it would work good but that is all speculation for now. If you look at the stickey at the top of the red rifles threads you will see a whole whack of options to mount optics there.

You are looking almost $475 with shipping. It comes from Czech Republic. Main site that sales them there sa58.cz has them on special order now, probably not enough demand to stock them.
There is one more cover which is a stock cover with rail mounted on top, never touched it but I think it is not up*to the task of any optic mounting. It costs under $50.00 but you can make it yourself .
I would recommend side-rail, I have it on mine there is few to choose from, they are solid

Murat, bfiles,
Thanks for the replies, do you have good return to zero with the side mount?
Can the dust cover be removed with it on or does it have to come off for cleaning?
The price for the railed dust cover is pretty large for my liking right now, have they been standing up very well? Maybe someone has one here that can chime in with their observations?

I dont own a railed dust cover and i dont think alot of people do. so i cant really say how it is or not. but yes it would have to be removed fpr cleaning

If properly installed side rail is excellent. There is few models on the market.

Moving Target in Alberta has ex-interammo rail (I have it on mine) it is very easy to install and knock on wood will last a life time
Zahal from Israel has proper CZ 858 rails too, they are made in Czech republic

The best is made by Zendl in Czech Republic, but it requires small grinding job to striker

That would be my luck!
Wasn't NEA hinting of some plans in the works for the CZ after getting their AR program on the go?
I remember reading these things somewhere here, but have a bugger of a time getting through the old posts without getting side tracked!

^^^^

Just ordered one. It claims it will hold zero and is secured to the reciever with 2 screws on the sides of it.

Hope it works good cuz I just drop $340 for one!!!

Guess I will be the guinea pig.

Will report back with how well ti works.

What do you guys think would be a good optic choice???

I am thinking either an aimpoint micro or a vortex sparc type red dot, maybe a ACOG type one????

Thoughts????

This one?

That's a lot of money. Other than what looks like tabs to fit into the bolt carrier removal notches it doesn't look much different from the SKS receiver cover mounts.

You can bet the NEA one, when it comes out, will be around the same price. Does Zahal ship it to Canada?
