CZ 858 Railed Dustcover (PICS)

And really, if you weigh up the all the costs of the other parts needed to achieve a cantilever mount, that is saying you don't already have the Ar tube; the price is not that bad.
It would seem that with the cantilever you gain that extra inch to mount further back to avoid the flying casings depending on what optics you choose to mount.
However I like how this adds to the over all look of the riffle.
 
Yes this is very true.

I bought the cant lever mount, railed stock mount, buffer tube and stock and they all added up to more then the railed dustcover.

Then I sold em as quick as I bought them as I have 0 need for them now.
 
Arrived and installed. The heavy spring was a real b*tch.

VERY NICE!

The site says no gunsmithing required, but it looks like there are tabs affixed to the side of the receiver. How is the dust cover installed?

I'm getting dangerously close to buying one...

It's two loose bars which are held in place with set screws using the provided alan key. I put the alan key into the cavity in the pistol grip, along with batteries for the red-dot.
 
Fired off 20 rounds today to zero the red-dot for next weeks clinic. Definitely much better with the railed dust cover. One however, it looks like the bolt carrier is scraping along the dustcover a little bit.
 
Really?? is it fully seated??
Mine does not have that problem but on the inside of the dustcover i did file some of the paint of so i wouldnt have any interference.

It wasn't bad, I was able to rub it out with my fingers. Can't wait for the weekend when we have the CQB clinic.

I've decided to start a new tradition. Notice the barrel. Two white stripes. One for each CQB event I have fired that rifle at. Once I hit ten, I will take them off and replace with a thicker white stripe, and so on.

Got a disturbing email from Zahal. They were checking up on the delivery of the dust cover. They said I got the last one in stock!!:eek:

So those of you who ordered one are going to be waiting a bit. Obviously a popular item.
