I picked up a CZ-858 from AL Flaherty's a couple of weeks ago, and today a friend and I headed to Silverdale to put it through it's paces.

( First time to Siverdale for me, I really liked the range, Ill be getting a membership in the new year )

240 rounds later I have to say I'm really happy with this rifle.

It's light , handy .. everything is in the right place, and works well.

We did not have a single issue other than one mag not engaging the Bolt Stop when empty on 2 occasions.

We were hitting the Gong at 200m with little trouble.. the sights required no adjustment.

I plan to dress this Rifle up, it would really benefit from an extended mag release, Muzzle break, and adjustable stock.. But it is more than serviceable with no augmentation.

Post Shoot cleanup.. was Fast... back to sparking in 15 minutes.

I am really happy with this gun, and I look forward to putting many many rounds through it.

I bought my CZ858 from there as well, it is pretty precise just not accurate yet since I have to re-sight it.. am trying to find the sighting tool but wanting to avoid shipping ugh. But glad you had fun, what were your groupings like? And what was your setup?

Is Silverdale the place where you can only load 1 shot per magazine?

Nope...certainly not for us, I like a place where I am treated like a responsible adult, and I think this range is it.

we hit most the ranges there, had the run of the place, the action range was busy, so they opened up the competition range for us, we had it to ourselves.

We were doing run ups, reloading drills, posture changes... Nothing crazy, but much more than sitting at a bench plinking.

I love my 858. I have sent huge coin on some of my guns, but I tell you what... I use my 858 regularly. I actually bought 2, one to keep at home and one to leave up North. The cheap ammo is great stuff... Just make sure to keep that gun clean.

One thing I liked was the very positive extraction.... I mean.. those spent casings were Outa there... straight up and a little to the right... they drop about 3 feet to the right and one foot forward.. After flying 8 feet up!

I can't wait to take this gun back to the range... after a little augmentation,

Primary, has to be an extended mag release.. In the cold with gloves that little lever was not easy to operate.
