CZ-858 - Range Report

I have this rifle and am very happy with it except the corrosive ammo part which means cleaning pronto..after a long day of shooting in the fresh air, I am not always so keen on cleaning right away.

***however, I want to get a reliable red-dot and not spend multiple hundreds of dollars what would be a good value: ie handle the 7.62x39mm by not turning off after 4 shots (from the recoil), or losing center, and also must be able to accommodate weaver rails with out any extras.****

I have a Burris XTR-135 on the VZ scout mount. Very happy with it so far. I'd be dubious abotu the railed fore-ends as they would shift zero really easily.

The new series Bushnell Holosights are very robust and easy on batteries.
Besides, they sit very low on the sight axis compared to the older model.
Higginson Powders has them.

I bought one to tide me over till the Russian sks boat arrives. I was impressed with it to say the least.

We have a 1 foot by 2 foot gong at 350 yards and the 858 could ring it every time off the bench with chec surplus ammo. Ths gong was quite safe from my norinco sks's with the same ammo.
