Hello All, Does anyone know if the rear sight is the same on a CZ 858 and a SKS ?

The Scout Mount for the SKS can be found in the US / Ebay for 20$, The CZ scout mount is 100$.


Anyone know if the SKS Scout mount works on the CZ ?

The FAQ says the CZ scout mount comes w/SKS instructions, that is what got me thinking.

the guy who wrote that FAQ already thought of it and it dont work.:D

there is no SKS scout mount sold on ebay for $20 , the last one sold was a used one for $41, new ones in the US sells for $55.

altho the instruction for installing the mounts on a SKS and CZ are the same and the rails are indentical but the base are totally different , the base has the same width but different shape.

if you were to put a SKS mount on a CZ , two of the mounting screw will miss the rear sight, and if you were to put a CZ mount on a SKS, you wont be able to open the gas tube for cleaning so they are not interchangeable.

BTW, i havent seen a CZ scout mount sold in the US auction, i dont know why. you'll just have to either fork out $100 from marstar or wolverine , or keep an eye on EE, it does pop up once in awhile for approx $75 but you better act fast.

It won't interchange. I even called Scout Scopes a few months ago to ask about their mounts. The proprietor told me the AK, SKS, and VZ mounts are all different and not interchangeable. Like Curtton mentioned, the mounting screws are just ever so slightly different.

altho i looked into the sks>cz interchange , i never checked into the AK so you answered my question. thanks.
 
Thanks Guyz ... I guess I have to buy a SKS now, I;m the one who paid 41$ for the ebay Scout mount : )

Guess I should have asked first. I'm really an impulse buyer.
