CZ 858 + red dot mounting + rails

Good info.
Did you mount the Strikefire with the AR mount because that's all you had, or because the lower mount wouldn't work?
I have the strike fire with both the AR higher mount and the normal low one.

If I need to get the Burris I'm OK with that... the Fastfire III is calling out to me.
I am right handed and left eye dominant, so a red dot is basically a must for me.
Thanks

I have seen it done with the lower mount and it works (just no perfect co-witness I believe), I used the AR mount because that was all I had.

The NEA front rail cover I find is great. Low enough to co-witness with the right optic, still easy to field strip, and little to no problems with return to zero.

My CZ with the NEA mount and Burris FastFireII.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you send enough rounds down range with that set up, it will loose zero.

Putting an optic on top of the handguard is not recommended but I guess that nobody should realistically shoot enough for it to cause problems.

I'm running a Russian Kobra sight with an integrated side mount.

Like this except I have a 11.8" CSA Vz.58 in 5.56x45mm and without that cover in front of the sight (is that a killflash?).

CAA Tactical upper and lower hand guards. Cheap red dot, but it's strong and it works. Sorry about the crappy cell phone pics, ill take better pics this weekend.

If an Eotech mounted on the upper receiver of an AR-15 can discolour because of the heat generated by firing continuously for a long time, imagine what the heat directly on top of the piston of a CZ-858/Vz.58 feels like. I have big hands and my support hand grips both handguards of my Vz.58 but I have to wear a glove because of the heat. My left glove has a dark black line from where the heat and excess gas escape from the seperation line of the handguards. Your cheaper optics won't hold their zero over time.

this is the way I am going to go. I used one of those mounts that hook to the side of the bridge? (oufff.. i almost sound like im saying the shoulder thing that pops up) anyhow, i put it on nice and tight and it fell off while being really cool with it at the range. I found it to be too high anyway, for a 11.5inch csa carbine. Next one I'm trying it this.
