I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find any explanation of how to replace the shroud on the upper hand guard of the CZ 858.
Lots of videos show the before and after but none of them explain how to do it.
I'm sure I could force it off but don't want to break anything or damage something.
I'm a newbee to CZ 858 so really haven't been exposed to all the wheres and how-tos before.

I saw the answer in another thread here.
Ok, I know how to remove it in theory but can anyone explain how to actually remove it step by step.
I've pressed in the button and tried rotating but nothing moves.
The tabs are impossible to bend, they snap back to their original position after being bent (very springy metal).

You bend one of the tabs with pliers so it's completely out of the way, then you rotate the beaver barf out towards the tab you've bent.
When you're done you rotate it back in and bend the tab back.

There is 2 types of super hand guards one that you can press and rotate it is very easy to disassemble and than there is the one where the metal tabs are bend to hold the wood/plastic in place. The one with bend taps is way harder to take apart

I must have one of the bent tabs. I basically bent the small blade on my pocket knife trying to bend the tab. No success.
The tabs seem to be made out of a very springy metal that retains its shape and will immediately return to their original position.
I think I need to come up with a way of bending it out of the way and then rotating the hand guard. (I'll need a few more hands).

In my experience there are actually three types of handguards. I suppose you have a band fixed to shield, so one time mod only, tabs will break when you try bend them back.

I've already tried bending them and, trust me, they do not break.
They don't permanently bend either and snap right back to their former position when released.

Figured it out. Held the metal piece securely with a vise (protected with cloth).
Used a small paint scraper to hold the tab back.
Depressed the small indent and rotated the beaver barf.

The tab is one piece of metal as you can see here:

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

That makes sense now. Apart of this variation there are two more - one has tab band welded(?) to heat shield and most common old one - where tabs are just extensions of heat shield. With latter two variations tabs are easily damaged.
