cz 858 stock question.

If you've got a padded vise you can hold the rifle in, it's a lot easier.

A hex or square shanked screw driver that you can get a wrench on helps you to turn it while you lean on the driver to keep it from slipping.

Don't neglect your built in vice. Your knees. That's how I did it. Put the rifle face down between your knees to keep the stock from moving. Get a flat head that is long and wide enough at the head that you are securely in the slot for the bolt and give er. Should come undone.

try to whack the wrench on the screwdriver with a hammer to loosen up the tight bolt. Since u cant readily put an impact gun and socket to the bolt, I have tried this on other types of bolts and in a pinch it helps a bit aswell

I take it this is the screw/bolt you are talking about? Is it easy to swap from a folding stock to full stock and vice-versa? I just got the folding stock model!!!

I used one of those cross tire irons (speed tire iron) worked like a charm had lots of leverage with 2 handles to reef on it

the one with a flat tip on one end...its large and fits well ...if you don t have one the cheap tire wrenches that come with vehicles and vice grips work just as well the large blade end is just perfect dad and I just changed ours this afternoon push really hard and turn.

Are the wood and the folding stocks the same length?

The metal one looks a bit shorter, but it could be an illusion.

My stock was almost impossible to remove! I tried a padded vice, even an impact driver - no luck. I thought long and hard and decided to sacrifice the old butt stock by cutting it about 2 inches from the receiver to relieve to tension on the bolt. It worked great. Now, I know some of you might frown at this but I felt that it was a justifiable sacrifice to mount the folding stock.

Funny I did the same thing after a frustrating morning trying to get it off!
