cz-858 tactical 2 question

i want to order a cz 858 tac 2 but i have been reading for the last hour and a half in the red rifle section about the famous cz gremlin , i would like to hear from the 858 tac 2 owners about any prolems they have had with theirs .I know there are other posts about the gremlin but im fed up of searching for them because all the posts end up being an argument about witch is better the cz or the ak.
 
So far I have only put one case of ammo through mine and not a single malfunction at all. So I just got another one yesterday. Great rifles you won't be dissapointed.
 
They are fantastic rifles don't hesitate to order one. I have about 3/4 of a case through mine and have never had an issue and my buddy just picked one up a couple of months ago and also has not had any issues with it. Do yourself a favor and buy one!
 
I've got two, one breaded and one naked. Both gremlin free but the striker pin on one has a tiny crack and I am sure eventually it's going to break. Oh well it's seen almost 3000 rounds so far and there have been 1 or 2 times I didn't clean it right away. The part is cheap to replace.

i have one with no gremlin after 1000 rds.

bot another from a guys who says it has the gremlin but unfortunately after i fired 200 rds , cant find any gremlin . i was looking forward to fixing a gremlin .

I love my 858. I have never replaced anything. I just clean it and oil it. The paint on my barrel is peeling off, that's about the only way you can tell it's used. (minus racking it and having a look in the chamber/bolt head) It's parkerized underneath anyway.
If your asking about reliability, I have put 9 cans (That's 10350 rounds) of corrosive ammo through mine and have had one FTE.

The extrator ripped the rim right off the cartridge, I mean clean off! It took me about 5 mins to get the stuck casing out, as I didn't have the proper tools to get it out with. (gravel pitt shooting)

Edit: I'll see if I still have the case, and post a picture.
 
When you buy an 858-2, get a complete parts kit also. Then you will have a set of spare parts to choose from.
 
im glad too see some people have no issues with there 858s but the more i read the about the 858tac 2s all i see is the majority of people talking about how un reliable these rifles are,i wonder what the ratio of people who have one that funtions reliably compared to people whos are gremlinnized?

The "majority" of people do not report unreliable rifles. Far from it.
 
I put 100 rounds threw my new one on Saturday and it ran flawless..

I can wait to shoot the other 1000 in the next couple weekends.
 
Got it, love it, haven't changed it. I've put most of a case through it so far and only 2 or 3 duds - no problem with the gun though, fast accurate reliable so far.
 
Bought mine at the start of 2007 and have put 1.5 crates through it plus a couple hundred non-corrosive. I've yet to have a FTF or FTE. It's come close with brass cased when the chamber is dirty though; partial case head separations.

I did get the gremlin, or at least one variation of it. It took 5 minutes and a piece of spent 9mm brass to shim the sear pin. It looks to be permanently fixed.

Stop over-thinking this and buy one.
