Not tacticool, but the latest incarnation. The pics don't do the color or the wood grain justice. It is really a darker red, not as bright as in the pic. Still putting on the boiled linseed, coat number 9 tonight. Awaiting the muzzle brake, and mag release. I still need to trim off the rail to have easy access to under the hand guard for cleaning.

Tacticool or not.....that is BEAUTIFUL !!

The one in your link is a PRI rail. Wolverine has them. The one on my rifle is an Infratek/Dlask rail.

If I were you I'd wait for the co-witness rail coming from Wolverine or go with the PRI.

My Stuff

Here's my non-restricted VZ.

Have the usual FAB accessories. The extended magazine release and the folding stock is from Infratek. Push the button to fold, and it holds it folded with about 7 pounds of pressure. Just pull on it to straighten out, no need to push the button again. Leaves plenty of room to access the safety. My button had a few rough edges so took a Dremel to it. You can adjust the tension, or oil it to loosen it up. The M4 stock just didn't work for me so went with this one.

The case is a Pelican 1720, and cutout with a utility knife. Was cutout for the wooden stock first and added the folder recently, so had to cut a bit more for that. Haven't decided on a brake for it yet.

So I know its kinda OT but further to the whole chest rig thing...

It was recommended that I look at the Eagle Industries 6 mag AK rig. I ordered on and it arrived in less then a week from the US. Initial impressions are that the quality is good and most importantly it holds the VZ58 mags upside down nicely. Also you can't beat the price, the total shipped was around $110 after exchange.

I'm gonna order a couple more AK mag pouches for the Molle attachments so I can run 10 mags. I think I'll put this one through its paces at a course later this year. I can't take any pics cause the wife took our camera to work, but I'll try to remember next week.

Is that a T-pod from fab defence? How do you like it? Is it sturdy when open and closed? Work well?

yea muzzle brakes make for loud shooting... attachment free is quiet enough to shoot without ear protection out in the bush. although its not really attachment free with that skeletonized bayonet on there :p

Are muzzle breaks to reduce recoil? Why do they make it louder?

It is meant to reduce muzzle rise and overall felt recoil. It's louder due to the expended gasses from the muzzle break when the firearm is fired.

Here is a pic of my cz 858. Currently for sale. Going to be going the restricted route hopefully with a Rauch 9" barrel. (Vz58 Defender style :D)
