CZ 858 W/ under folding stock? Possible?

AK under folders are the worst feeling most uncomfortable clunky stocks ever... trust me you will shoot worse with it ... The factory Czech side folder is far far superior .. No point in changing your rifle into a cheezy AK clone , you will regret it later .. VZs are better than a AK in many ways , The Veit cong comandos preferred them over the AKs because they could be loaded with stripper clips on the fly , great feature when theres a mag shortage .. Put down the Dremel and be proud of your rifle for how it is.

Dlask used to make an underfolder (IIRC) - there are issues with the magazine interfering with the folding feature though. Having owned an AK in 7.62 with an under folder, and currently owning a folding Vz58, 12.5 carbine I'd say the Vz folder is much more comfortable to shoot than the under folder. Far less tendency to bang off your cheek bone, and a lot less wobble.

i feel that you have changed my perspective on the rife completely. The last thing i want is a cheezy AK clone.

but damn do i want a genuine AK. (but then again, dont we all)
 
I agree with boss351cleveland and enefgee on everything mentioned above. Having had an underfolder on a VZ it didnt even compare to the factory folder. Factory folder being a little on the short side but an excellent folder for sure.
 
I have a 858 with FAB folding stock and it's measures as legal.

Yep its way lighter , has better selector switch , can be charged with stripper clips , has last round bolt catch and has less recoil . The AK might be a better mud gun but thats it .
