CZ-858 with AK stock revised

As some of you may recall, a while ago I modified the stock from a chinese AK47 to fit my CZ-858. The attempt was only a marginal success because although the evil-look factor was greatly improved, the fitted stock was a little high to allow proper use of the iron sights.

Last night I finally got around to correcting the problem and with a slight angle change, the AK buttstock now has the same cheek clearince as the orignal CZ-858 butt stock. And although I had to "gut" the inside of the AK stock, I later fitted it with a homemade adaptor insert to allow it to still hold the AK/SKS accsessory tube.

The Chinese used laminate? I thought they just used solid chu wood.


Aaaanyways... it looks sharp on your Vzor. She may be a fine rifle but the red epoxy/glue/sawdust stock just really doesn't do it for me looks wise.

I'm not a fan of the presswood either. Hence the "real" wooden furniture.

Looks good there Ljungman. To complete the look, you lookin at changing (or re-contouring) the pistol grip at all?

I'm awear the sling is backwards. I like it this way for two reasons:

1. I'm always switching stocks and the end that is most quickly removed is the leather-ish part.

2. The buckle digs into my sholder the other way

And I can't wait to see what you do with your CZ Armedsask

If you get an FNC style stock, I think it would look sharp. They are nice and solid. I don't know about the face clearance but at least you know that if it folds to the right the bolt isn't going to interfere since the cocking handle sits up high.

Looks great! That is no Chinese stock though, it is a Polish AKM stock... that lovely laminated wood is unmistakeable!
