Cz-858

In the USA it's all the rage these times.
Using a US machined receiver (to comply with the US contents rule) the folks at CZ-USA are poised to strike it rich: already seen two major reviews on it and everybody wants one. Some even went to say that it is the best bargain for the money in short carbines.
The tests reveal one big surprise: a machined steel receiver that is lighter and stiffer than the usual AK's stamped ones and a rifle that's shooting as good as any AR with 100% reliability.
Another well received surprise: the VZ is a lot lighter than the usual AR.
I'm pretty sure that VZ-USA will come up with a scopable version very soon.
Just stay in touch with the tests and reviews in the various Shooting Times, Guns&Ammo and others for the upcoming months.
PP. :)

Anyone know where I can pick up an 858-2? Most places are sold out.

No disrespect to Wolverine, but I bought my M14 and CZ at Frontier and they were great. I went for the rifle and case of ammo deal.......

CZ 858 Tactical Package includes 4 mags, pouches, bayonet, cleaning kit & 1120 Rounds of 7.62x39 FMJ Surplus ammo on stripper clips $899.95!!! Shipping included to most destinations

No, I don't work for Frontier, I am just a satisfied customer....:D

i'm waiting for the non restricted chrome lined 858's to arrive before I pick one up, I was told marstar might get some in this spring

actually the receiver is made in the czech republic by d-tecknik then imported by czusa and has 5 u.s. made parts to comply to 922r ruling the parts that are u.s made are the trigger, mag floor plate, sear, mag follower and disconnector so it has so many u.s made parts it is considered a us made rifle. they also have to extend the muzzle to 16 inchs so it not a sbr. 922r law is for hicap semi auto foreign guns. that is how czusa is bringing them into the states, century arms are supposed to make vz58's with a new u.s receiver and assemble them from parts kits guns. i personally would stay away from century arms since all their ak, galil and g3 builds are crap

Got my CZ858 from Frontier. An incredibly well built rife. Too cold to go shoot, but I am happy with the fit and feel. Bought some non-corrosive ammo and waiting to take to the range to find out it's accuracy.

Just got back from the range this morning. It was my first time shooting the 858, and I like it alot!! After getting a feel for it, and removing the Red Dot because the battery died, I was shooting 3-4 inch groups at 100 yards with surplus ammo and iron sights. I was able to put a few right down the middle too. I know it could be better, but for my first time shooting the CZ, I was pleased.
