NEA upper handguard and a Bushnell pistol scope 2-6 power is what I have on mine. Works perfectly with the long eye relief also the scope is out of the way of the ejection.

One thing that I did find is that when you first put on the NEA handguard you have to shoot it for a bit before it seats fully in the front rails and therefore you have to tighten the front set screw a couple times. Now, I tighten it before shooting and it is good for the shooting session.

Get a Long Eye Relief scope and a B.C. Tactical handguard.
The best thing is no screws and it's rock solid right out of the box.
;)

Question is what kind of accuracy do you want out of it?

A red dot at 200m is not acceptable hunting accuracy for me, especially the vortex and bushnells which have a 3/4 MOA dot.(yes I know the sparc claims 2 moa but it doesnt look it.) That translates to a 6 to 8 inch dot with no precise point of aim.

That's why people buy magnifier's and also long eye relief scopes come in adjustable magnification too.
Althought with that being said the x39mm round for hunting greater distances than 200 meter's I would probaly choose another rifle maybe bolt action in another caliber? That is just my personal preferance.

I just want to shot and kill, not shot and wound, at 40 you need some help:D

Well - As you've not been deer hunting before, here's what you are likely to encounter:

1) You're going to be "north of 7"
2) You are going to be in dense forest ("tight bush")
3) Your shots are going to be typically 70 yards or less
4) You're not going to have a lot of time to shoot.

So - Iron sights are a good choice. A red dot or a low power scope - 1.5X are good. More important you need to practice shooting freehand at that distance.
