Cz 858

Does any one know if the New CZ 858 being sold by lever Arms have cromed barrels.
The CZ 58 have cromed barrels and work very well,I have shot hundreds of rds and had very hot rifle but she keeps on ticking with good groups..Any one own a CZ 858? And hows does it work?

I do not believe that the CZ 858 has a cromed barrel.
This is what I have heard but I have been known to be wrong in the past.

CZ 858 doesn't have a chromelined barrel. It doesn't make that much of a different because I don't think anyone here needs it. If it makes you feel any better the Yugoslavians don't chromeline their AK barrels.

The VZ's are cromed and the CZ's are not.

original i.e. short barrel is chromed, longer is not - I suppose, that longer was developed for Canada because of legislation.

I can't understand why anyone should be concerned whether their rifle has a chrome plated bore or not. It will make no noticeable difference either way.

It will if you don't plan to clean it propely.

I would clean it properly whether chromed or not, so it don't make the slightest bit of difference to me.
