CZ 958 Teaser Part 4 (NO THEY DON'T HAVE CHROME LINED BARRELS)

Sorry if I missed this, but what is the storie about the .308 version? Are they still working out the bugs?

Too bad a STANAG mag well wasn't part of the design.

It would have kept some of us away . I love the 858 mags, I have many but I don't have any stanag 7.62x39 mags. So a stanag 958 would have ben prohibitive for me and many more I think.

I think it's great you guys have gone through all this effort to bring these rifles in. Just out of curiosity when did you submit a 958 for review? I plan on buying one eventually and can't wait for the aftermarket accessories that some of our more talented members will be producing (longer railed fore-end on the same plane as the receiver rail.... hint)

It may have been covered in the previous threads but I don't want to wade through a bunch of inane comments and whining about chrome lined barrels. Are the 958 parts (piston rods, piston spring, trigger group assembly etc) interchangeable with 858 parts? If the parts are interchangeable will you have a stock of spare parts on hand? I own an 858 with the '06 proof mark and have noticed that spare parts have dried up and would like to keep her running for many years to come.

Last of all, any chance of getting bolts with the handle on the left side?

Thanks Wolverine. I have absolutely no use for or reason to buy this rifle. I will anyways. The political statement you're making and support you're showing to the Canadian firearm community needs to be supported.

Now take my money, damn-it! :)

It has been in for awhile so hopefully the lab will be done before long, but who knows. Email your MP's and tell them to put the pressure on the lab for any of the firearms they have been holding up.

Most of the parts of a CZ 858 will work with the CZ958. There will be some differences in some of the trigger components. We will have some parts for the CZ 958 once they become available. Your CZ should run for years without needing parts. Just make sure to keep them well lubed (we see a lot of different guns coming in here with problems with lack of lubrication...no the damn end of a q-tip rubbed over the insides of the gun does not constitute lubricated .)

Nope....

Not sure if this has been brought up, since I'm not wading thru hundreds of posts...

Will it be possible to get a fixed stock on the tactical model?

I like having the availability of irons, but really don't see myself being a fan of a coat hanger stock ;)

Alternatively a hunter with irons would work too

The tactical will come with the factory folder, the hunter has a fixed stock. you can change your rifle around just like you could with the 858. If you want to get a different buttstock, just get yourself a fab stock setup. The hunter does not have iron sights on the barrel or on the rail.

Thanks. I never had an 858 type, so don't know anything about the aftermarket for them. I've just been looking into x39 AR uppers and suddenly remembered that you had this project on the go.

Will you have your sample rifles at Brandon?
