CZ 958 "Teaser!"

One big change I would make from the 858 is to make the charging handle on the left side.

It makes absolutely no sense to have the charging handle on the right side.

Mag changes would be so much easier and faster with this little change.

I can't wait for pics. I would say yes to the heavier barrel. It won't add too much weight. Will any optics co witness with the sites given the new rail?

Mag catch looks like it's going to be a pain. It's tucked up so tight against the trigger guard that I doubt you could use the fresh mag to toss away the spent one. Even gloved hand might be a little difficult there for quick changes.

Have you owned a vz? My trigger guard is deformed because the mag catch sit so far back. Like it's trying to keep it safe.

Oh no there goes that nice open area for ejection, malfunction checking, finger grabbing, chamber checking etc. How can you tell I like that big open space after watching AR guys clear stoppages.

>>> No ETA and no pre orders yet.
As long as three are no pre-orders, I cannot pre-order. I don't understand the logic in this, please take my money? :)

I don't care if the barrel is chrome lined or not; however, I do care that it is classified as non-restricted. Heavier barrel may be nicer, not a deal breaker for me.
As such, I would most likely get one of each NR offering :) AND a legit NR 858 receiver.

When it comes to furniture, I have no issues with the stock wood or aftermarket stuff. However, a nice furniture (like the Canadian Edition) option so I can keep it stock while maintaining overall aesthetics. Possible to have Maple wood hardware (if it's not already)?

so from my understanding...this will look like the "classic combloc rifle" like the VZ-58, if so im all in.

Sorry no more photos for approx. 2 weeks. We have yet to finalize the details so still time for some changes. We are proposing to offer two models based on one rifle. Four if we include short chrome lined barrels which will make her restricted, how many of you want her?

Will keep the base price as low as we can by supplying with standard ex military furniture allowing for options that will increase the price.
Do you want the stock angle flattened to improve your cheek weld?

Any interest in heavier barrels, this should not increase cost, not sure if there is space for much increase?

All CZ 958 will come a new receiver equipped with 1913 rail with built in case deflector, the old top cover is not used, bolt carrier is slightly modified, not tabbed as the gremlin should almost disappear due to improved tolerances.

The Hunter will come with no sights, no front sight base, a trim small threaded on flash hider and 2x5 rd (short) mags. I envision this rifle will be equipped with optics and upgraded with "Canadian wood furniture"

The Tactical will come with the original front sight base with muzzle nut so all after market flash hiders can be fitted. A aperture rear sight will come as standard this clamps to the rail so it can be mounted close to your eye where aperture (ghost ring) ring sights belong. Base model will have military style folding stock. I envision this rifle will be equipped will all the Tack Cool accessories an owner can afford in increase the LCF! Standard would be 4x5/30 mags included.

Bayonets, mag pouches, slings etc not included as our aim is to keep the original purchase price of the base units to under $1,000.00 not sure yet if we will meet our target yet.

No ETA and no pre orders yet.

Hopefully we will be able to offer chrome lined barrels in the future but certainly not on the first batches.

No stripped receivers at this time as we will want every receiver completed as a rifle. I am looking at another source for low cost standard receivers.

Please keep your comments coming.

Sorry for the grammar but an I- pad in the bar does seem to have a mind of her own!:)

Sounds fantastic, glad to hear things are moving along. I love the idea of the two different models. Might have to get on of each!

Is there any word on mag adapters? Will they be drop in, or require machining? Thanks

So, two questions....

1) Will "standard" CZ bolts still work, w/ or w/o the tabbed mod? Have LOTS of parts, now that I have disposed of the serialed part of the gun.

2) When others have to turn in the cut out section of 858 receiver with the serial #, to the jackboot authority, will we be able to get a deal on the "press out/ press on" refit of exisiting barrels, to non prohib recievers? All 'other' parts installed 'by owner', of course, after the 'cut apart' job required to get you the 'receiver fragment w/ barrel', for the refit....??

Good luck, on sourcing a 'cheaper' semi only receiver...I'll settle for CZ quality, though. Top notch quality.

As a side note, this REALLY blows dead goats, and to those reading, if you haven't written your letters, please do so now.
