CZ 958 update.

It was never my intention to drag the announcement of the new CZ 958 rifle out for this length of time. Had I known how long and painful this procedure was going to be I would have delayed my initial announcement by several months.

When I visited Bruno and handled the prototypes myself, I immediately realised that I required a few details changed, these changes were based on my previous experience (more years than I care to remember) with rifles, not from a business perspective. I wanted the CZ 958 to be as close to perfect as we could make her. With hindsight from a business perspective I would have been better to have said, “good, put her into production” but I didn’t.

I only learnt this morning that these detail changes required new Czech Government approval that has delayed shipping. We are still looking at a few weeks before we have our samples shipped. Yes it would have been super to have had a sample CZ 958 at the Calgary Gun Show in two weeks time, but that is not going to happen.

Trust me in that however frustrated you, the retail customer are, it is a few thousand times worse for me. For better or worse I chose to keep you all informed, as they say “Don’t shoot the messenger”, even if as on this occasion I may appear to be asking for it.

The great news is, the sun is shining here today.  :) :)

Thanks for the update, John. I really appreciate your attention to detail, including such things as making sure you can't convert this to FA to avoid hassles with the RCMP lab now, or in the future. Thank you.

I only have love in my heart for Wolverine Supplies...
Thanks for the update!

Thanks for the update John, but I have another question to keep you on your toes. Once the sample rifles are here, do our nazi RCMP have to approve them? If so does this process take months-years?

You notice that I edited your post, the RCMP is an honourable organisation, it is the system that is at fault here.

Your question is an interesting one, I have "no comment" at this time. :)

I think it's good you gave us the info about the rifle. It might take longer than some expect but at least we can plan for it down the road around other rifle purchases.

So John more hurry and wait:)

When it comes to dealing with governments, nothing moves quick.

I did have my income tax return dedicate to this purchase but the wife was there when I picked up my return and that solved where the money was going.

Yeah guys.. RCMP is honourable *cough*McDonald Commission*cough*. And it's obviously been the SYSTEM not the RCMP who's made it next to impossible to get a carry permit. CFO's HAVE to follow the rules that they make up as they go! To heck with all those numerous ###ual misconduct scandals, would an honourable organization do that? Would the RCMP burn down a barn when they were denied a warrant? Only if you believe history. Come on guys.. Have some faith in our law enforcem... I mean law maker-uppers.

I fully understand that things like this get delayed and there nothing to be done about it! You saw a couple of things you taught should be tweaked or change and you made that decision that greatly delayed the process; but that means we should have a better rifle that we will love even more so for that I commend you!

My only problem with all this is that yes it is delayed but whats the hold up on a picture of it? I mean you saw it you got a picture liying around why not just share it? What would be the down side in sharing it? I mean isn't the cat out of the bag already?

Thanks for the update John
In the long run I would rather wait a few extra months and have a better rifle
Your attention to detail and your desire to offer the best product possible reflects very positively on Wolverine Supplies

All updates appreciated. Even news we don't want to hear is a welcome update!

The collective is thankful for your perseverance to bring the 958 to us, despite the foreign and domestic obstacles you have to deal with. Thank you.

I am getting exited for this , with a top rail and if the weight is keep under 7.5 lbs this rifle is going to be awsome!

I actually hope it doesn't have a quad rail, its too heavy, i would prefer if you could attache rail section if you need them.
