I've been considering getting a CZ97 B or 97B (D) (.45) ( "if" the (D) version is even available anywhere yet? That's my first question I suppose :)

My next question is being that this is a double stack mag holding 10 rounds, how large in fact is the grip? Are we talking STI edge thick? I like my 1911 single stack feel, abit wider is no biggie but just curious if it would be much wider then say my CZ SPO-01 Shadow 9mm grip and if so by how much?

No vendors close to me to put one in my hand so I thought to ask some info here, many thanks.

If you like the 1911 grip, the 97b grip is quite a bit wider(STI Edge thick). What size glove do you wear. If its extra large or bigger your hands will fit a 97b. Accuracy is quite good. Cycles with everything once I found the correct bullet seating depth.
I would not replace my 1911 with one though.

I have large hands so it was no problem for me to get used to it. If you have small hands you may not like it.

As others have stated they are very easy to shoot well.

I wear a Large glove yes. Thanks everyone for great input, I am reluctant to purchasing without having one in hand however we'll see.

definitely try and handle one first if you can, but if you've handled other CZ's and have somewhat 'large' hands then you're probably ok. my hands are 'normal' sized and it still feels great, just a bit thicker and i can't manipulate the slide stop as easily as with say a 75. accurate and fun though, very soft shooter.

Hi

I have a Tanfoglio TZ97 (almost identical to the CZ97 and retails for about $530 at Freedom Ventures), and it is a great pistol.

Had the CZ97b and sold it (didn't like the "unbalanced" recoil), have a new German made Sig 220, I like it way better. Better balance, fit, finish, control, etc. It's a single stack which makes the grip a little smaller too.

What's "unbalanced" recoil?
