I'm in the market for a good quality .22 bolt. I had a CZ Lux 452 several years back. Liked the gun but had to do some fiddling (bedding)to get it to shoot well and had trouble mounting a scope because of two concerns. Had to remove the rear sight to accomidate the scope bell (32mm) and had to use high mounts because of the bolt handle. The mounts had to be so high that my head was off the stock when shooting. Has cz corrected that? Do you need high mounts with their new American? I will go with a Kimber if necessary but would prefer to spend less. The gun will be used for plinking and hunting tree rats ect...
Cheers & thanks!

I have a 452 American and use Hawke Match high mounts. I did try the medium Burris mounts but, like you said, the bolt would not clear my banner scope. I'd prefer lower mounts but I'm getting used to the high mounts now. In fact, I think I like it. Either way, I really like my gun, shoots sweet!

I had medium height rings on my CZ without a problem using my Tasco scope. I don't believe they have changed anything (still the same ole 452 ;) and the 453 is the same as far as I know in terms of bolt lift)
