CZ announces the CZ 1911 A1!

What a waste....start with a replica model that lacks all the modern features that greatly improve the 1911 platform???
Expected way more when Dan Wessons are right there in front of them.

Exactly, if I wanted a bare bones 1911 I'd just buy a Norinco.

I hope you are right although they use the term "steel" to describe other guns (75 Omega for example) on the CZ USA site.

If ever i'd feel like shooting 45s out of a classic old school looking 1911, i'd be looking at the STI G.I. at freedom ventures for 860$
But I like my 1911s to be modernized 70 series.

For a mil spec gun the Norinco is a much better buy and can be made better. This gun will be the price of a "gone over" Norinco and likely then some. Canada ammo has the basic model on for less than $300.

I put a frame shim in my R1 and tossed the FP block guts in a baggy. Works like a champ

Big questions:

Are the holes in the right spots?

Is the magwell in the right spot?

Have they done a better job on the internal machining than on most CZ stuff?

If so, it might be a good buy. Otherwise, it's just another cheap 1911.

CZ Branded = Not made by CZ = What is the point?

I'd be better off to buy a spartan blank the slide and have CZ engraved on it, at least I'd have a decent 1911

Not with an Alloy Frame. Should they consider a steel-framed version, I might get one.
