Colt Canada is not and will not be involved in the Canadian Government firearms buy-back program from Canadian citizens.

Have seen this response from this person a few times now. It is far from "conclusive" and is in fact full of holes.

Mentions "citizens" (not businesses), mentions "Buyback" (not destruction or any other services that could be provided as part of this charade). Intentionally vague at best with lots of wiggle room for another division of the company (even a new subsidiary they have created for the purpose of avoiding blowback from the gun community) to provide the services I mentioned.

There is lots of evidence that CZ / Colt has already been involved in the confiscation from the businesses. It all looks pretty greasy.

A very carefully worded response

“From Canadian citizens”

It’s already been confirmed by some retailers that they shipped their inventory to colt Canada for destruction

So Canadian gets their guns confiscated they get delivered to "retailers" that turn around and send them to Colt Canada. Clever worded letter

When asked, CZ USA initially stated:

"Thank you for your message. In response to recent inquiries, CZ is not and will not be involved in the Canadian Government firearm buyback program from Canadian citizens in any way. I hope this helped to clarify the situation."

We know this is a carefully crafted response, seeing as how dealers have already stated that it was Colt Canada that they sent their inventories to...

When folks sought clarification and asked more pointed questions (to remove wiggle room)... CZ deflected and is now saying:

"Thank you for your message. In addition to our previous statement, we can only state the following. CZ is not authorized to speak on behalf of other members of Colt CZ Group. Please feel free to address your questions directly to Colt Canada or consult Public Safety Canada."

Which, I'll leave you to interpret...

Isn't Colt Canada on Wilson Ave. in Kitchener?
Wilson Ave is a stone throw away from Shoemaker which is a industrial area with lots of logistic companies, possibly a way to conceal and hide their involvement.

On top of that multiple retailers have confirmed colt Canada is where the firearms and parts were sent for destruction.

All that tells me is it’s much more plausible they would seek the assistance of a logistical company with the expected volume.

Article is pre sept 2024 which makes me thing there’s more to the story than we’re getting. Agree to take the governments contract in exchange for future military or LE contracts hence the need for expansion and all on the tax payers dime.
Why else would a reputable firearms company as well known as colt/cz risked their reputation for $9 million? That’s a drop in the bucket in the long run, but some new mil or LE contracts, now that’s where the money is at, nothing like getting on the government teet

Google earth still doesn’t show any development unsure how recent the pics are.
Colt Canada will still get contracts to supply military arms.IMG_2788.png

If tasked with destroying all the oic guns, could be their most lucrative one (contract) yet

And if they can "destroy" them by recycling their parts into export/gov irons, pure profit on both ends. #BudLightThem

It is quite possible that the actual primary destruction contractor is renting out space from a manufacturer.

Destruction needs a crusher , that's scrap metal processing. Manufacturers do not run scrap metal processing, but manufacturer has the license to warehouse prohibs. So it is quite possible there is another primary contractor that uses space of a secondary contractor down the chain.

Depending how the question is asked and how it is responded, there are many ways to respond to questions concerning these things that could be factually and lawyerly correct, yet the answer doesn't make sense to the questioners.
