CZ Banna Clip conversion on SKS?

While I must admit we should cut folks not familiar with sks nomenclature some slack, the mental image of a bunch of bananas stuffed into a sks mounted on a tripod, gave me a nasty case of the giggles.

Everyone starts with mods like this. I look back on the things I did and wanted to do and just shake my head. As far as I can tell, all the negative comments are just poking fun. But to the OP, I only recommend that you dont alter the rifle permanently. Keep the original parts and use only bolt on aftermarket parts so when you decide (like I did) that SKS's are best the way they came (except for that baby-saver pin) you can still return it to its original glory.

The only mod really needed fo the SKS is to strip the shellac finish off as it will start to chip, even this is not really important. Lots of seriouse shooter will tell you that those plastic stocks are not very good, look cool but thats about it. The SKS will function best as an SKS, all those after market crud will just make it heavey and will probably make it even worse. Buy a 858 for the tacticool experience.

Does not matter how cool your honda civic looks and sounds, under all that prettiness its still a honda civic, so don't expect to see F1 performance out of it.

And the only clips the CZ/AK/SKS take are 10 round stripper clips, unless you mean the magazine, then its gonna take a lot of fiddling to mod an SKS.

So are your comments that are being made through experience or from hear say? There are many mods that can be done to enhance the performance of the SKS. Stock modification for egonomics " Lengh of Pull" , not all after market stocks increase weight. Trigger work is the biggest performance enhancement you can do. If your budget allows you to buy a 858 then go for it, but I would think twice about buying a overpriced 858, when you can enjoy shooting cheap surplus ammo with a SKS dressed the way you like it........

ahahahahaha

Overpriced, eh? The CZ family of rifles is easily the best deal in Canada, and possibly North America right now for a centerfire semi-automatic rifle. They're good quality, solid rifles that shoot cheap-ass ammunition with reasonable accuracy. And the price that we pay here is exceptionally good. Just take a look at what the Americans have to pay as MSRP:

Ok, I got the furniture for my buddy ordered, tapco t6, with ncstar red dot, and a bannana mag.

Who sells Trigger jobs? The trigger is a bit heavy, any recommendations to make it a bit more crisp?
