Looking at the new CZ based Production pistols make me drool.

Damn, these new toys have tuned factory triggers, adj. target sights, FO front sights, bevel mag wells, full dust cover, ambi controls, steel frame/slide etc...

CZ SP01 Tactical/Shadow

Designed by by CZ-USA Shooting team captain Angus Hobdell as an IPSC “production” division competition fi rearm, this pistol has all of the match components required. Featuring the CZ Competition Hammer, for smooth DA and light crisp SA trigger pull,
CZ Competition Rear Sight, for a superior sight picture, CZ Fiber Optic Front sight for faster sight acquisition. Modifi ed Slide Release, Lighter recoil and main spring for use with “minor power factor” competition ammunition. The Shadow is trimmed out with CZ’s
durable non-glare PolyCoat fi nish and slim walnut grips. Each gun is tested and zeroed before leaving the CZ Custom Shop. Outstanding value in a “production” pistol.

Other than the "Tanfoglio Stock", I don't see any of these pistols listed on the official IPSC "Production Division List". Just because someone says that they are "designed" for IPSC Production Division does not mean that they are approved for that use by IPSC.

For example, the "CA SP01 Tactical" is listed but the "CZ SP01 Tactical/Shadow" is not. According to the CZ website, the "SP01 Tactical" comes with fixed tritium sights. Not the same pistol.

I can't see the "Stock Custom" being approved. Looks like a jet funnel added on.
FYI- HK tried this with the IPSC USP PRoduction. Basically a Custom Sport with a jet funnel. Sad to say, but not approved in the end.

The Stock Custom was on the list for a short while last year and was pulled....I imagine that they are probably trying to fix it so it can be
re-instated on the list again......if he does I will have a Production gun....look very sweet!

I don't know what the OFFICIAL justifications/explanations will be but if the gun is basically a race gun with a DA trigger thrown in (like the Custom Stock) isn't not going to be put on the list of approved. Mag wells should also, in my opinion, be an instant fail...

I think you guys may be mistaking the base of the magazine for some kind of funky mag well.

If I remember right the base which is a funnel on this gun was part of the re-classification....

Stock Custom was dropped off the list because of the magwell. (The one thing the IPSC general assembly is clear about in production - magwells are not going to be permitted)

They have re-applied with the committee without the gun having the magwell. We'll know more in the next month. The Stock is still on the list and the only real difference between it and the Custom is the full dust cover. The Stock is plenty heavy (handled one at SHOT) I should have some in two weeks; whereby we'll announce pricing. (fingers crossed)

yup design a gun for PD, then don't put a decocker on it? I was at a shop here in BC that had a ton of CZ's including the Tactical Sport (nice gun, but SAO), and an SPO1. weird thing was the SPO1 looked different than the one in the catalog. The light rail had 3 cuts, where the one in the catalog had 2. It also didn't have a decocker even though the book said it should. I don't get it.

the CZ will not take over production!!.....YOU Slavex....with your Beretta can stop the CZ's from taking over....use the force.

(I'm sorry,... I was watching the Star Wars DVD collection the other night)

I've heard from multiple gun smiths/designers/etc that it is more difficult to tune a trigger with a decocker, lots more options with just a safety.

Hey Slavex just to let you know. There are 2 versions of the SP01. The regular version which you saw has ambi-safety and no decocker and then there is the SP01 Tactical which has an ambi-decocker, but it will not be in the country for another month yet. I know I am waiting for one.

As for the 2 and 3 cuts in the rail. From what I heard in the forum the 2 is the original design and then later changed it to the 3 cuts, which I believe is what both versions have currently, but I could be wrong.
