Hey all I'm interested in getting one of these mostly for the gf. Was wondering what everyone thinks bout them. I've never handled any of the bobwhites I like the ringneck but need double triggers and love the look and feel of the straight grip.

I bought one in 16 g just a few weeks ago from a site sponser. They are on sale for 799 and I couldn't resist :)
I'm very impressed so far. Everything is well made and I've got a few hundred through it already.
Last I looked they had a few 410's in stock at the sale price too. Don't think you could go far wrong. Seem an excellent value to me.

Sharptail/Straightshooter did a review on the model a few years ago - someone should be along to post that pdf file for you to read.

Presently, I own a 20 and 28 and I like those very much. The best one in terms of fit/finish, wood, trigger pull was my 12ga that I no longer have. The 16ga just did not feel right to me in terms of balance so I traded those off too. All guns shot to POA.

The Bobwhite I owned in 28 was a killer gun, shot where you pointed, was very nimble, and didn't break - it was easy on the eyes as well!:D

The Bobwhites offer much value in a field model shotgun built at that pricepoint.

IMHO, the one thing that the guys at Huglu didn't get 100% right with that model was the 16ga....I tried two different ones over two seasons but failed to obtain satisfaction in terms of handling - besides both guns measured IC/IC chokes instead of the advertised M/IC. Perhaps it was just me..... :)

Seems more to be mostly for you and you may make the GF use it.
Why .410 ?
.410 is expensive ammo and gives the least likelyhood of a new shooter to hit a target/bird effectively.
Does she need double triggers and a straight stock or that is what you need/want ?

Just sayin'

I prefer it and she refuses to try anything with a single trigger. Ill use it for skeet occasionally. She's a tiny thing and can't handle a 12ga due to weight and length. She fell in love with my buddies 410. She rarely shoots anything airborn just clay targets and pop cans on the ground. And she smashes those. Believe me I've tried to get her into a 12ga even loaded 1/2oz loads but she wants a 410 sxs 2 triggers case colour receiver and show quality wood. I can't afford a purdy or holland and holland so the cz seems the best solution and ill cut the stock down for her and make a new pad for when I shoot it

She wants what she wants, got it.
Get it or try to convince her the 20ga will be much easier to hit with and save papa some dough feeding it.

I'm up there with the twenty as well.
The pea shooter is for the crowd that can shoot with fewer pellets or those of us
that can't shoot the grouse with the 22 anymore..........eye sight issues.
Looky.

Or perhaps even the 28ga....factory loads cost the same when compared to that of .410 should one consider that from that point of view. Moreover, performance efficiency will become far more enhanced with a 28ga.

28ga Win AA HS Sporting Clays #7.5 and #8s 3/4oz loads work so well for both clays and Grouse/Woodcock .....

She won't ever hunt with it and when I grouse hunt I carry a 12ga ya never know when I can fill a bear tag and I can switch a 7/8oz load to a 12ga slug quick whereas a 410 or even a 28ga I could only tickle a bear.

To prophet river I've seen your adds. And would gladly buy from you but I want her to hold one to see if she likes it and how it fits her before I buy one and find out she don't like it. I may have to drive up north of toronto and orilla area to find one as no one is the far south ontario has any in stock. She's set on a 410. I tried to get her to say yes to a 20ga yildz today but she wants the 410 and I want her to be happy so I can sneak another gun or two in the house with no complaints
