CZ bolt action carbine 7.62x39

I've only ever shot reloads and the non-corrosive Ukrainian ball/HP in my 527 with no feeding or extraction problems and two quite dead deer last fall.....1/2" groups with mine....... 1" or under with factory ball and a 4X Leupold......Harold

If you're going to buy a nice rifle don't waste it on a crappy caliber, that's why you buy an SKS, to take advantage of the cheap ammo supply.
Get a nice .308 bolt rifle and you can still shoot surplus ammo.

last I saw him post was he sold out and was not bringing anymore in because of retailers sourcing the ones from the USA for cheaper and he could not compete

That may be so, but it's worth a try.
It worked for me.

One important thing- make sure it is direct European import to Canadian market.
American models are less expensive, but more than few corners have been cut, and it is not exactly same rifle (in terms of QC).

If Corwin Arms can't help, another good place to call is Trade Ex.
I believe that Corwin does have better price at this moment.

The CZ 527 in 7.62x39 is a great rifle. Yes it isn't a cheap rifle, but think of it this way...given the cost of x39, you're more likely to spend more hours behind the 527 that you will your high priced $2 per round boomer...you might as well be shooting a high quality rifle. My x39 and .22lr rifles are quality for this very reason.

EDIT: My 527 has been solid. Accurate with no failures of any type. Certainly one of my fav rifles.

Thanks,
Cal.

And the 7.62x39 round is no more expensive to reload component wise than a .223 The FMJ's make a great beaver round without the missing head....if I want a European classic BG rifle i have my 7x57 BRNO 21 ....Harold
