Cz Bren 2 MS 7.62x39 11 inch

Do you have the 308 version in NR barrel lenght?

According to Ian at Forgotten Weapons when he was going over the details of and firing the Bren in 7.62 NATO at the CZ factory, no semi-automatic only heavy version has been created; he suggested this may change if enough people petition CZ.

I'm trying to follow your cost. When you say factory butt stock did you get the one they posted seperate. It's sold out now and i cant remember what the prices listed was at i thought 399. I've ordered before they are good to deal with.

My $2882 CAD cost with IRG included the Factory Buttstock that they listed separately, plus the GST. That is where I made a mistake. My IRG price already includes $144 CAD in GST, whereas the North Sylva price does not. As it currently stands then, IRG is $144 cheaper than NS if they happen to have the exact model that you want in stock.

Interesting when i do the conversion online from usd to cdn plus 5% tax it comes out to considerably higher number.

1960+399 = 2359usd shows on conversion $2963cdn right now without tax or the 25usd import and cdn shipping. Unless i got the stock price wrong. Thats where im confused. Anyways good luck with the gun. You should look into the HBI hangaurd replacement.

Stock is 299 not 399

Has anyone applied for frt non res for 762x39? Currently only 223 rem is the non res. But I think that's easy for someone to apply for when they have the barrel made

My IRG order for the 14" 5.56mm rifle totalled $2310 with the factory Buttstock and GST, which works out to $2882 CAD at today's exchange rate. North Sylva is quoting $2799 for the 11" and $2999 for the 16.5", so say $2899 for the 14" (if NS were carrying that miitary barrel length). So right in the same pricing ballpark whether you order through IRG or NS, assuming one or the other has the exact Bren 2 MS configurattion that you are looking for. The 7.62x39mm guns are in short supply, apparently due to sales to Ukraine. The 5.56mm firearms appear to be in good suppy however.

I for one, am just pleased (and relieved) that IRG can bring in the 14" Barrel with the Bayonet Lug for the correct military configuration as used alongside the 11" carbine by the Czech Army.

Is it just me or does it look like the pistol versions from IRG have shorter handguards than the proper military configuration?

It's just you....

Here's a worthwhile YouTube video which explains the 5 (or 6) key differences between the military CZ Bren 2S versus what we are going to get - the Bren 2MS, with the "M" presumably standing in for "civilian" or "sporting". As the host "Mishaco" points out, the biggest difference between the two versions is that the 2S has Receiver Lightening Cuts, which the 2MS lacks. The next biggest difference is their respective Handguards, which Overlander2018 picked up on. The simple 3-rails on the 2S attach with 3 screws per Rail for a total of 9. The 2MS Rail provides only 1 MLOK hole per Rail, vice 2 on the 2S. The 2MS Rails also attach with 5 screws apiece for a total of 15. The Handguards are the same length however.

The remaining differences save one, are relatively minor - the 2MS has a scalloped top Picatinny Rail for weight savings, whereas the 2S does not. The 2S ships with Czech military metal mags, whereas the 2MS comes with 2 Polymer 5/30 CZ mags. The Cleaning Kits also differ with the the MS having a Green US-style Military kit versus an OTIS-style CZ kit with the 2MS. The 6th and final change concerns the 14" Barrel, which on the 2S has a Bayonet Lug that the civilian sporting 14" 2MS regrettably omits. The first two and the last change provide immediate visual cues that readily differentiate the military Bren 2S service rifle/carbine apart from the civilian Bren 2MS sporting rifle/carbine. That is a shame for "purist" collectors of military and military-style firearms, but may serve to save the Bren 2MS from the Canadian government's immediate ban-hammer. Ah, who am I kidding? "Military" features or not, the Bren 2MS will be squarely in Poly's #####y sights the very minute that it hits the market....
