CZ Bren 2 MS NON-Restricted MAJOR UPDATE Post 587

If these are being made from scratch, and it didn't add too much cost/time to the process, could the barrels be made like a Faxon gunner barrel, with a government profile thickness behind the gas block, and a pencil profile forward past the gas block?

I think I would be onboard with this.

Should be the best of both worlds. Accurate without being front heavy.

Big Update from DLASK, Barrels are ordered and on their way.

Non-restricted conversion barrel:
4150 V-Steel
223 Wylde Chamber
Black oxide finish (Gun blue) we are very sorry but Nitrated finish was not possible.
1:7 twist (just like the original barrel)
Medium heavy profile (just like the original barrel)

Estimate time of arrival:
We expect 6-8 weeks for the barrel production, 1 more week to ship to DLASK, then ideally 2-3 weeks for Dlask to get the conversions done and ship them back to us.
Rifles will be completed and shipped 50 rifles at a time back to us. Once started, DLASK will be able to crank out 50x rifles a week for us.

Thanks again for all the kind words, we appreciate the support!

Would customers be able to pay a slight premium for a nitrite barrel? Or a credit for a unfinished/bare barrel that we could take to another company for nitrating or cerakote?
Black oxide barrels are fine for a traditional bolt rifle where the barrel is exposed for easy oiling/cleaning. Not really ideal for a duty/practical carbine, especially when you cannot access the outside of the barrel without removing the handguard or barrel for oiling. Just a question =) I really do appreciate the effort you are putting in here Marstar. 10/10.

This is a good question but sadly the answer is no at this time. The only way we can offer aggressive pricing that we have is because we are ordering the barrels in bulk. Once you receive the firearm, you can then send it off for cerakote if you like. Red Tower Armory does great cerakote work, we deal with them often.

Love to hear it. Hoping I'm early in that grouping.

Pardon my ignorance but what does bluing finish look like?

And how heavy is medium heavy? REALLY dont want a front heavy rifle.

Is the rifle already non restricted when shipped to us so we don’t have to deal with unregistering?
Also, roughly how many weeks to fulfill all preorders?

Others can confirm but it will be NR when shipped.

It will look NR but it may not be updated yet in CFO database. When I got mine converted by Dlask they ship copy of the paperwork that they submitted to CFO. You have to check with CFO until it is processed and completed.

I just got an email from Marstar that says, if I’m understanding correctly, that all rifle conversions from 16” to 18.5” have been spoken for and anyone else who wants to go the conversion route rather than waiting for the eventual factory 18.5” will be having an 11” rifle converted to 18.5”. Kind of a bummer cause I was going to email them today saying I wanted a 16” rifle converted to 18.5” but now it looks like that ship has sailed. I know this is a long shot, but if there’s anyone who did already tell them they wanted to have a 16” rifle converted to 18.5” and would actually prefer to have the 11” version converted instead because they don’t want the longer handguard please PM me and maybe we can get Marstar to switch our pre-orders cause I really don’t want the short handguard and don’t want to wait for the factory 18.5”
