CZ Bren 2 MS NON-Restricted MAJOR UPDATE Post 587

Only to be OIC banned this summer by the Firearms Committee being formed to make recommendation to the minister regarding their classification.

^^^ This.
The amendment's definition strangles the industry's future while the OIC means they get to cherry pick low hanging fruit.

Dlask is still waiting on the barrels but they should be there very soon.

To clarify so there is no more "Are we there yet ?" impatience - the barrels were promised to be ready to ship to us in 6-8 weeks from the time of payment. We got an update that they will be ready in the middle of May which is 7 weeks from the time we paid for them. Then it's a week to get here from the wrong side of the continent. We told Marstar that by the time we receive them, check them, engrave and blast them then send them for bluing we could start the installation by about the first or second week of June. From there it should be smooth sailing but as always with things in this life things can go for the better or the worse.

Our goal is to have them all done and out by the middle of July. Until then please hold the 'Can I get an update' routine and just be patient along with the rest of your country men.

Haha best answer thanks dlask!!!

These will be closed door committee banned before we ever see them. The quick no refund payment demands along with optimistic timeline initially stated at that time feel pretty dishonest now. New update whenever we finish not actually a priority, after summer employee vacations, thanks for cash upfront.
I'm feeling a bit taken, communications where unclear, suddenly feel like this was bad choice handing over cash. No urgency being displayed.

This thread has gotten pretty insufferable lately. They're ready when they're ready. Thank you for the update Dlask, and thank you Marstar for not just cancelling our orders when the factory delayed the NR version indefinitely

Well again maybe their communications sucked. There was no mention of 7 to 8 weeks from when we pay them plus another week shipping and then whenever we get done converting and shipping out. It really was framed as dlask is working on barrels and 7 weeks out at latest. Now that they have cash story seems to change at whim.
I'm glad there are true believers who will defend them regardless. Certainly nice having a 100% personal customer risk option offered to us, not sure how that was a huge lift on their part. Clearly de risked for themselves before proceeding to be safe and nothing moved until all covered.

Again well aware of situation just timeline seems to be slipping and isn't any concern expressed. Reasons are mundane and no solutions offered. If this was a managed project there would be concern about schedule slipping and questions asked to see if could get on track. This is lesser fair approach, push margins of estimates at each phase, if it gets done so be it.
I wouldn't describe as balls to wall.

Big Update from DLASK, Barrels are ordered and on their way.

Non-restricted conversion barrel:
4150 V-Steel
223 Wylde Chamber
Black oxide finish (Gun blue) we are very sorry but Nitrated finish was not possible.
1:7 twist (just like the original barrel)
Medium heavy profile (just like the original barrel)

Estimate time of arrival:
We expect 6-8 weeks for the barrel production, 1 more week to ship to DLASK, then ideally 2-3 weeks for Dlask to get the conversions done and ship them back to us.
Rifles will be completed and shipped 50 rifles at a time back to us. Once started, DLASK will be able to crank out 50x rifles a week for us.

Thanks again for all the kind words, we appreciate the support!

For everyone saying they lied on the timeline

Thanks for the update Dlask, ignore the complainers and keep up the great work.

Perhaps someone can clarify how much time we have between now and the possibility of the set up and activation of the so called committee that will be able to arbitrarily ban whatever they want. I think we all understand that if things continue on the same political trajectory, this firearm will be banned regardless, but will there be time to get these to the buyers before that happens? Does anyone have any idea on the timeline for getting the committee up and running? That in my mind will be the larger issue. I am assuming that these would not fall under the new definition of "assault style" as they are existing firearms, and therefore still legal.

So this is concerning. If it gets banned before ships out, what about our money?

I'm guessing they will still ship to you since you paid for it and you are the legal owner. Similar to what happened during the 2020 OIC for those that bought in the days/hours leading up to the ban.

I believe I read there was a August 31 2023 deadline for the committee to present it's summer recommendations to the Minister. So i'm guessing they will compile a list all summer but nothing will be submitted until Aug 31st and who knows if the OIC will come into force that same day.

Stop panicking over unknowns. You can so what this govt til you are blue in the face.

DLASK and MARSTAR are doing their best, and have actually said this timeline all along - people just have selective memory or only wish to get their info from this post and miss pages of info.

Hold the Line!!!
