Oh gosh I don't remember it was so long ago. I think I actually pre-ordered the day Marstar announced that CZ was working on an NR Canadian Length Barrel (Lol). It was so long ago in-fact that the original pre-order price was $2,999.00.
I must have preordered close to a year ago.
 
Any B.C. boys hear from Dlask yet?

Might have to book time off work for the pickup, so I’m curious if it’s gonna be by appointment or just showing up during regular hours.

Just picked mine up from Dlask. Joe was there in person.
I would call Marstar to confirm you’re in the first batch.
Then call Dlask to confirm you can pick up before they close.
Huge thanks to Marstar and Dlask for getting this beautiful rifle in our hands to enjoy!

This order started with the premise that it would be factory supplied NRs but that aint happening as CZ is maxed out sending rifles to Ukraine, it then switched to converted 16"s but they couldn't source enough so they took 11"s too.

You are correct about the gas systems (16" & 18" will have the "long" gas system and everything else will have the "short" system). Dlask have played with the short gas system (ie tested different orifice sizes for the gas port) until they found a size which offers good reliability with minimal gas.

The upside of the converted 11"s is that they can use a thinner profile barrel and the gas block is closer to the rifle so they should be less front heavy.

Just Curious. For those that purchased the NR conversion of the bren 2, were you able to install a longer handguard? I'm looking to purchase it, but the barrel to handguard is so out of proportion. That is my only deal breaker.

Do you mean on the 11" or the 16"? The 16" handguard looks fine with the 18.5

The only handguards I have seen for the Bren 2 are HBI (Marstar are offering these).

The length you can get will be determined by the gas system on the rifle (ie converted 11"s can use the 13.8" version and the converted 16"s can use the 15.8") as there is a cutout on the HBI handguard to allow access to the gas system adjuster.

The 15.8" hand guard wont work on the converted 11" and the 13.8" hand guard wont work on a converted 16"

Got mine today and what an awesome looking rifle that is. I’m glad I waited it out and didn’t get discouraged by all the negativity.

Question for all you who received their rifles: Did any of you install the original muzzle break on the new barrel yet? If so, did you use shims? Doesn’t seem to quite line up properly with the washer it came with on the original 16 inch barrel….

I had to reuse a crush washer off my other flash hider. It wasn’t lined up when twisted on.
 
Viola! Beautiful rifle. These barrels look and feel amazing. Kudos to Dlask. Cannot wait to go blasting with it.

Probably not yet. Marstar earlier said that they're doing all the 16inch conversions first, and there's 3 shipments of those. Shipment 1 &2 are out the door. I must be shipment #3 since my 16 hasn't shipped yet. Hopefully soon!

Correct
Last batch of 16" rifles will likely ship from DLASK this week, we might even get a few 11" rifles with them as well.
