CZ BRNO MOD 5 22 LR clip

I have the rifle without a clip, any idea what clips fit this gun and where you can get a new one?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Wholesale Sports---5 shot metal clips $30, 5 shot plastic $20, 10 shot plastic $30. You can also get a metal 15 shot(likely need modifing) from Bits of Pieces for about $45 delivered. Its a Kmag from South Africa.----Cowboy

So the ZKM 452 will fit the MOD 5?

And while were at it which scope rings would fit the mod 5?

Hi, Mags from the 452 will work fine in the Mod 5, Rings if you measure your dovetails they should be 16mm, they are avalible for the current CZ527 models and will fit the mod 1-5 Brno's.

I have fitted Norinco magazines to Brnos, and they work, but a genuine Czech product is well worth the premium.
Current Brno .22s use standard 3/8" Tip-Off rings, older ones have a wider dovetail. Rings are available. If you can find an older set of Leupold Detacho rings, they will fit the larger dovetail perfectly.

rings

If you can find someone who stocks Lynx rings, they make rings to fit the 16 mm dovetail, and are fairly reasonable in cost. I recently bought a set for my model 5 and they set me back about 45 bucks. Best bet for magazines are the 5 round metal, mine came with a 10 round metal, the only one that I have seen. Good Luck, Later.

Any and all magazines variations from Brno Model #1-5 and all the modern CZ 452/Scout variations are completely and directly interchangeable. However many of the Norinco ones seem to be a bit less forgiving. And yes...the Lynx rings are my favorites. Not cheap..but quality.

If you ever decide to sell your #5, let me know, I might be interested.

Lynx Rings

I too will recommend the Lynx. I think your #5 will take 3/8 dovetail but you can check with a tape. Easy to tell the difference between 3/8 and 5/8 dovetail. It will be one or the other. High rings if your going for a 40 mm scope with AO, otherwise med will fill the bill. The #5 are usually exceptional shooters. Let us know if it will print one hole at 50 yds with 5 shots.----Cowboy

Here's a pic of some of the bad boys I've owned----Cec

I thought the gun was just a pretty little piece when i picked it up, I had no idea there was such a following.

I'm gonna try the Parker and Hale peep site first, but a scope is going to get there eventually.

Cut one hole at 50 yds that sounds good, I've had this gun for about 10 yrs and never shot it.
Any ammo suggestions? (this will cause a stir)

Once again thanks for the info,

Gary

You got it . Top to bottom, #1, #2(black bart), #2, CZ 452 American and same in 17HMR---Cowboy
I had the CZ's pegged and had also figured the middle one was a #2 but that Black Bart one had me confused...cut down barrel? Synthetic stock? Interesting...what's it's story. All very nice, congrats.

And it continues to grow.

Brnomann/Denny (ajakubec@aol.com) from RFC will have factory Brno peeps that you are looking for that may meet your needs even better.

Not surprised..so I'm guessing you won't be selling it any time soon. ;)

That does surprise me. :runaway:

What is nice about Brno's..ususally is they will have multiple offerings that they are happy with...but not all. Also they amazingly shoot allot of the cheap bulk pack stuff. Mine have always done well with Federal/American Eagle HP's, Winchester Super X HP's for hunting ammo.

Good luck and enjoy it.

My Model 4 shoots Federal " bulk" incredibly well. The rest of the cheap ammo I feed it shoots very well indeed. You'll be amazed what these rifles will do - they're a great ego boost!

It's already mounted so I'm gonna go with it for now

Nope, it's mine for a while

Me too, it's been hiding in the back of the safe

That sounds even better, and I'm sure I will enjoy it

Black Bart

Tou:

Bart started off as a normal #2 Brno made in 1956, same long barrel with very ugly front and rear sites. Someone thought "HMMMMM I wonder if I spend a fortune and have the rear sight removed and the barrel shotened slighly what it will look like". Then tragedy, a fall on a hill side and stock broken----Bart ends up in a gun shop as a barreled action to sit and gather dust for many years. One day my friend Don walks into said gun shop and rescues Bart. He takes him home and restocks him and paints him truck liner black, sells him to guess who, because now he has atitude and is going to be a gopher killing machine. He tunes the trigger to 2 Lbs and gets rescoped with a Bushnell 4 X 12 X 40AO and newly added sun shade(not in pic). On a gopher hunt to Wild Horse Alberta he amazes every one in the country as a KILLING MACHINE. So now you know the rest of the story Cowboy.

So where do you recommend i get scope rings from. I'll trust the Lynx recommendation.
I'll be putting a Leupold M8-6X on it so 1" and I hope to get by with as low as possible - low or medium height?
