If you have one tell me your thoughts on the pistol. Am looking for another .45 but am not sure just want I want yet, I have a CZ Shadow 2 The CZ pistols seem to be a very good bang for the buck. They seem to very scarce here in Canada. Thanks.

I had a cz97b...was the usual Cz fare....nicely built, well balanced, decent trigger and surprisingly accurate...at the time I was a little 'meh' ...but now I kinda want another...it's not a scaled up shadow...it does carry more heft..so it fits a bigger hand best...but that said ..for the money it's great value..

Honestly, one of the most accurate pistols I have ever owned. DA is a loong way, unless gorilla hands. (Holster selection ain't great, either)

If I get back into .45acp, that will be my first choice.

As Bollox mentioned above the DA reach is crazy long. With the factory wood grips on the one I used to own I literally couldn't reach the trigger, and even though I've got small hands I can shoot an H&K Mk23 or Desert Eagle with no problems. Installing slim aluminum grips made it manageable...and at the range it was very pleasant to shoot. I wrote a detailed post on mine here. Although I've sold this one I wouldn't mind owning another, I think, if the opportunity arose. I think it's maybe the best-looking pistol CZ makes....here's my old one:

I have one and like it and really should shoot it more. The gun out of the box is as accurate as most can shoot. I have not put a decent set of combat sights on it and still have the factory sights installed. They probably work for younger eyes. I should look into a FO and a better rear sight. Buy one you won't be sorry.

Soft shooting, accurate, great looking. What's not to like?

I don't have any trouble with it's size, and my hands aren't that big.

Mine's a keeper, and I'll eventually invest in a trigger job and maybe some sights to make it even better.

I got my ears on and like what am hearing so far. In don't know anyone out this way that has one so am not able to handle or try one out. Thanks!

A friend of mine had one. Nice gun, but I could not reach the trigger in DA. Could barely get the tip of my finger on the side of the trigger. I needed it in SA to shoot the darn thing.

Auggie D.

I like mine but I find it big and heavy. I was shooting a walther p99 then went on to the cz 97b, so much thinner in the slide. It has a odd habit of sometimes shooting sparks out the top of the ejection port.

I've got one. I've got big hands so it fits me well. I've since sold my 1911s. I plan on keeping it. Perfect range gun and super accurate. Mags are still available. Parts are a bit tricky.

I have a 97B....big gun....I had bought it for IPSC but I can't reach the mag release with out cocking the gun off to one side, I am an average size guy but hands are too small....should of tried one before buying....other than that no regrets....I am going to the NB provincial in August if you happen to be going or anywhere in the area I can bring it up for you to try out....don't know how long you want to wait though.

Thanks! for the generous offer guppie, I'll keep it in mind but am leaning more towards another 1911 now. I doubt I could ever master the DA pull. Am going state soon I might get a chance to handle one while there at a gun shop.

Phooey! If you can walk and chew gum you can master the double action pull. If you can manage the reach on the 97B - Medium Large hands glove size here and I have no problems then the 97B is a pretty decent option. From my experience the 97B will shoot with most 1911's when it comes to accuracy with all the reliability and build quality CZ is known for. The gun size wise is the same as or slightly smaller than a 1911. It just has a wide grip due to it being a double stack gun. If you have small hands you will be able to make the gun go bang but shooting it well...probably not.
