Cz evo 3 vs Sig MPX

I had every intention of going to the shooting center to grab an MPX but when I got there and was handed the MPX AND a Scorpion I couldn't resist to play with both. Scorpion was the clear winner for me. Fit, Feel and Quality were far superior on the Scorpion. The MPX was like a nerf gun compared to it. Flimsy, mass produced china stuff is what I kept thinking when playing with the MPX. The slider stock is a great idea, horrible execution though. The biggest fact that turned me off was the MPX and it's mags were twice the price!!

Two great choices dude! Both are on my top two wish list. Am super jealous:)

Have fun with them and pls report back on your thoughts couple months down the road.

I like the scorpion, but the 5 rd. mag drives me nuts. I have a colt LE 10.5 9mm on route right now, but I think it will end up being joined by the scorpion in the very near future

I'm not convinced that the MPX is worth double the cost of a Scorpion, but they sure are nice. Very intuituve "AR" style controls, plus a very welcome Bolt Release for the Right--hand Trigger Finger make it very smooth to operate. The Scorpion controls are pretty good as well, just not quite as nice as the MPX. But what really sets the MPX apart from the EVO3 is the operating system and its effect on perceived recoil. The piston-driven operation of the MPX produces a very soft perceived recoil coupled with the increased operator safety provided by the locked breach. Compared to the raw blow-back operation of the Scorpion, the MPX wins hands down for controllability. Does that make it worth double the cost of the Scorpion? Not necessarily, but it does make the MPX a worthy successor to my MP5 in terms of handling, controllability and shooter comfort. A bold comparison perhaps, but entirely fitting I believe.

Please don't ever stop posting pictures of all the beautiful guns you have that us young ones can never own! That MP5 is gorgeous!

I agree with what you say about the MPX. Great gun, but I think the price/utility ratio is a bit high compared to others. However I don't think my money was wasted buying an MPX vs. the others.

Looking at these awesome guns just makes me want them too!! May need to get a part time job soon just to afford this hobby/wonderful obsession.

I really want to try that “red dot”

I remember handling them when I was a kid. Never had a chance to try it on a live firearm though.

(Where did you originally buy it from?)

I got it at a gun show for $80 years ago. Nobody wanted it because it had the integral HK mount which limited it's use to the prohib HK91/93/94 or select-fire counterparts. Similarly, I scored the retro incandescent Surefire Handguard complete in the box at a local show last year for $130. Again, nobody else had an HK94 or MP5 to use it on. Until I happened along, that is.. .

Are mags for the MPX still $150ea? I handled a couple Sigs at a local shop and was very impressed but when the sales guy told me the price of mags I handed it back to him.
Also, how much are mags for the Evo? I handled one at a different shop and all he said was that the mags were expensive. I should have pushed for an actual number.

I wish I had handled them both the same day for a better comparison but from memory the Evo was more comfortable but the MPX seemed like a nicer gun, hard to really say without shooting them though.

Would be nice if there was a factory non restricted option, I like being able to shoot my guns in my yard without adding $1000 to the price.
I went with a Vector in 9mm instead for the NR and the cheap 10 round mags.

Nice pics Bfiles, I'm looking forward to the range reports.

Thats what keeps getting me on this. I would love to run one in PCC Steel Challenge. BUT, i need the 10 rounds for that

The 10 round mags are a big reason I went with the Vector. I also have a 9mm AR that uses colt pattern mags and have three 10/32 and two 10/10 pistol mags for it.
If the AR was non restricted it would be the only PCC I needed. I was going to buy the FX-9 when it makes it to retailers shelves but I got such a good deal on the almost new Vector I couldn't say no.

I've owned a lot of PCC's over the years and I keep coming back to the Vector. This is my third one (had two gen one previously). One of these days I'll find a deal on a restricted model I can't say no to :).
I think the HK USC is probably the best one I've owned but the cost of mags, five round mags, cost and rarity of NR barrels, and the discontinued status allowed me to let it go. The HK was 100% reliable, was really accurate, and had very little recoil.

I have been seeing the 5/20 mags for around $26.95. The 5/30 mags seem a lot harder to find. The one place I found them at were for around $50.
