I am not sure if I should be excited about this test target that came with my new rifle I just picked up.

I guess it all depends on when the tester fired that flier. If it was the first shot, then I can say it was a barrel seasoning shot, lol.
The remaining 4 shots grouped extremely well for 50 meters. I guess I will only know when I take it to the range and try a few five shot groups.
Anyone else's test target like mine?

Some of the test targets that came with my cz's were not that good and the guns shot really well. I had a 452 varmint that had the "first shot flyer" thing but once I knew about it I put a couple in the dirt first.

Which raises the question . . . When did they apply the cosmoline to the barrel?
It takes some additional cleaning effort to get the patches to come clean and it is not recommended to shoot a CZ until the barrel has been thoroughly cleaned.
How would one know or is it possible to tell?

It would be after they fired the test shots. They probably ran a couple of patches through it and then applied that goop in the barrel which is definitly not cosmoline, but more like tar!

yep, my 452 shoots better than the target

i was worried at first, cause my target was crappy.... like sks kinda crappy

it shoots alot better than that .. !!! otherwise i'd return that sucka
