Does anyone know anything about this unusual prohibited handgun in 25 ACP, with a folding trigger? I can find nothing on the CFC's FRT, nor in the older Blue Book DVD that I have. A friend of mine recently bought one at a gun show and is looking for information on it. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated. PM me with what you know.

Jeff there is only one book on CZ rifles and pistols, they made revolvers, semi's, that never hit our shores! The book is in Chekoslovokian and cost about $300 when found!! If you post pictures I can borrow my friends book, and see if it is listed, or if there is any pictures with any model number?

cheers Dale Z!

The Fox is a rare and truly obscure, early CZ. I've never seen one, but according to Berger's book, it was developed after WWI by Alois Tomiska, who had a decade earlier designed the first double-action self-loading pistol, the Little Tom. He hoped to interest the military, but failed. The Fox was designed in a manner that was popular in central Europe, using a solid frame to enclose the slide/bolt inside. The gun was probably produced only from about 1919 to about 1922. In 1922 the design was part of a merger that became the more famous Ceska Zbrojovka firm, and a trigger guard was added and the pistol became the Vz 22. It is quite rare. I don't know its value, but CZ collectors will be really interested (if they have 12/6 status). It's really a collectible and not a shooter. I can't post pictures on this site, but if you wish me to, I can send a photocopy of the page describing the pistol from Berger's book. I imagine your friend's best bet to sell (if you don't want to keep it) would be in the US. Your friend has an interesting and unusual little pistol.
