Hello good gun nutz, I'm swapping out the polymer guide rod on my Shadow and the spring is so tight over the rod that it's cutting into the plastic. Would flipping the spring around so the slightly larger diameter end goes on first be a bad idea?
Thanks in advance, Skook.

In most pistols that I've know to have a spring like that it's a bad idea, it can cause the slide to lock up, I did that on my GSG by accident and I had a hell of a time getting the slide off of the frame.

Some of my cZs are like that so I just clean them, oil them and put them back the way they were.

so long as the small end is still bigger than the hole in the slide you are good to (and it will be).

If you are looking for springs to make it nicer to shoot, let me know dude
