Hey guys, so last year I picked up a kadet II conversion kit for my CZ SP-01. Both were brand new purchases. Unfortunately I had stovepipe issues from day one. I sent the kit and gun in to wolverine to see what the issue was and it was determined I needed a new extractor and extractor spring. They were able to get the spring but I've been waiting for about 10 months now for an extractor, supposedly it's an older model? The latest update is that CZ should be sending them at the end of October, but it's not guaranteed.

Wolverine has offered instead to just replace the entire kit as the wait is getting ridiculous. However, it's a different kit? I guess there have been changes in the model since I bought? Anyway's I'm trying to decide between waiting it out and keeping the older one or taking the replacement kit. Note that my "old" one is pretty much brand new. I bought it a year ago and have only put about 100 rounds through it.

What Wolverine has sent me, from their gunsmith, is that the older slide is all steel while the newer one is aluminum? Also that the sights on the older one are supposed to be better?

Does anyone have any insight on these two kits? I don't mind waiting if the older kit is better. I since picked up a ruger Mark IV to use at the range so there is no pressing need for the CZ. Was just wondering if anyone had any experience with these two kits and how they compare. I can't find much about their differences online.

Thanks

I don’t have any experience with the new kits (other than at a Wolverine demo day with the Shadow 2 kit, which seemed to run fine) but what they’re offering you is the SP-01 specific kit that has the slide that looks like the SP-01 slide, but the front part is non-reciprocating (as opposed to most of the slide being non-reciprocating on the Kadet II). If you want to practice malfunction drills than maybe the SP-01 specific kit would be better (although I would just do that with the 9mm slide). Other than that I’d say there’s probably no difference.

The specific SP kit is nothing more than a shortened Shadow II kit to fit The SP . Alloy and plastic cheaper to manufacture the Kadet II kit is all steel.

So after talking with a few different people it looks like I'll wait and stick with the original kit and just wait out the part. Just thought I'd wrap that up in case anyone digs up the old thread with the same issue. Thanks for the replies and PMs for those who weighed in.
