I just ordered a new CZ Kadet II conversion kit and I am waiting for it to arrive.

Now I have some questions:

1. Do the 2018/2019 versions still come with steel magazines? ( I saw a review of the latest Shadow 2 conversion kit and it came with cheap plastic magazines)

2. A few years back the Kadet conversion kit came in the same box as did CZ pistols. Do they still come in the CZ pistol box? ( I saw a review of a Shadow 2 conversion kit and it came in a different box)

I'm worried that CZ might have cut quality in the Kadet II. Any comments please?

Do not worry all is good with the Kadet II kit all steel shoots like a bandit, I also have the Shadow 2 kit and you are right aluminum and plastic slide , plastic mags and it doesn't group well , The Shadow 2 kit was a big let down for me.

there are a number of KADET kits. The P07, P09 and the SHADOW kit are made from aluminum and are very similiar to a SIG kit or a GSG 1911, the KADET 2 is completely different. All steel with a barrel/slide that is very similar in design to a S&W M41 which is what makes it so accurate. My CZ85B/KADET shoots just as well as my HAMMERLI EXESSE target gun. the mags are heavy duty, like a .22 mag welded inside a 9mm. The newer KADET 2 kits have a full length barrel on them (no taper at muzzle end) much like a CZ75B SA, I think they did this so it will look better on a SP01 but still look fine on a standard CZ75. There is nothing wrong with the aluminum guns. i have a SIG P 226 CLASSIC and my dad has a GSG 1911 and they are good fun guns but not nearly as good as a CZ KADET. It would be nice if they brought out complete gun again.

That's good info for me, thanks! I'm waiting for my Shadow 1 in the mail and am looking at options. I was leaning towards the Shadow 2 kit for it's look, proper slide function, and fit to the SP-01 frame. Having not actually held one or read much about them, I was cautious. Having handled the Kadet 2 kit and it having solidly proven itself I'm now leaning towards that route and doing the filing to make it fit.

I've got the Kadet kit for both a Shadow and a Shadow 2. Both shoot very well, super accurate and reliable.

When I bought mine I was looking to buy a combat style .22 but I wanted an all steel one. My dad has an original COLT ACE and it is great so I wanted something similar. the new kits are not contoured at the muzzle so it will look better on your SP01. Mine has a race hammer with action job plus I converted it to SAO, It now has a trigger at just over 2 pounds. the slide configuration is what makes it so great/accurate , very similar to a SMITH M41. Take your time fitting it, great purchase and I guarantee you won't regret it. I liked shooting it so much I leave it dedicated on my CZ85b frame.

Interesting I always thought I'd want a Kasey kit at some point. I went with the gsg 1911 instead as a full function pistol for less... the gag is a pie plate at 25m interesting the Kasey sounds about the same.....saved me some $$...
