CZ locks open often!! HELP!!

maybe the slide lock spring is wonky and needs to be replaced?
Are you using reloads? With the slide off insert a full mag and watch to see if the bullets are hitting the slide stop. If the slide stop rises then it likely ths is the cause. You can take a littl metal off the side of the slide stop where the follower hits it or seat your bullets just a tad deeper.
If this isn't the cause then it is likely you have to replay your slide stop spring.

My CZ-85 did that right from the beginning as well. I think that this is a relatively common problem for CZ's (75's, 85's of all types).
What was happening in mine was that, intermittently (usually the 8-9th round in the mag), the round below the one being chambered was caught by the bottom edge of the breech face on the edge of the rim and being bumped forwards driving the nose of the bullet up against the bottom of the slide stop. You can see this if you have the slide removed and the slide stop in place, you can see where the top round in the mag, if pushed forwards a little, will bump the slide stop.

You can stone off the sharp edge at the bottom of the breechface on the slide so that it doesn't catch the round below the one being fed.
OR
You can careful and safely fit a mag with a round pushed forwards a little into just the frame and slide stop with no slide and see where it contacts and take away material from the slide stop until there is no contact.
I did the 2nd option which worked well for mine but make no promises. If you're not comfortable with safety with a round in the mag in the frame without the slide then don't do this or use a dummy round.

With no slide there won't be a barrel for the round to slip into and be exposed to the firing pin. The round should not have to leave the magazine. So other than normal ammo handling I don't see all that much of a safety issue in doing this.
Doug, you didn't say what sort of ammo it is. Is the problem still there with 115 RNFMJ as well as with what you're using now? Just wondering if a bigger or fatter nosed bullet is rubbing on the slide catch finger.
