How are the mags blocked to 5? Is it possible to adjust them for cross-border travel, or are they welded or something similar?

I thought that if you remove the copper rivet on the side of the mag would fix this problem. Wouldn't this make it a full cap mag again. Please explain why that would not work?

he ask to "adjust" not remove. also you are assuming he is taking one to the US.
as stevo mentioned it would be tuff so therefore he maybe bringing a mag into canada, thats another can of worms, he should read the importing parts sticky.

Stevo, no I haven't. I'm checking out options to bring some stuff over here to Norway. Buying anything here is almost triple the cost of buying in Canada and shipping it over.

So, to ask the question again:

I thought so too, but it would be next to impossible to import them since I am not a Czech citizen bringing them into the country.
