CZ norinco clone backpack 22

I have one, I love it my new fav for sure
fun little rifle, shoots pretty well considering the short barrel.
The guys at the range always have a laugh when they see it :)
I'd say buy one, you won't regret it
Cheers!

I am falling in love with mine. I spent 15 minutes polishing the bolt to smooth it out. Order a couple of 10rd mags for it at the same time. I am thinking of putting some shinkwrap over the mag release as it is sharp.

I love mine. It's a mission specific gun for this use :).

I still think putting a scope on it defeats its intended purpose... but that's just me. :p It does look pretty sweet though; and I have to ask, how are you finding it accuracy wise, and what kind of ammo are you using with it?

If (I'm really hoping that's a "when") I get one of these, I want to put a peep sight on the back to stretch out the sight radius. I think that should make just about the perfect little hiking gun. :)

Hey Ton45~great looking rig! I just bought one of these, and am picking it up on Boxing Day! :):):) I've been looking at compact scopes, and mounts...how do you like your set-up? What scope, what mount? (links please!!!) Looks like that scope must have generous eye relief to be mounted so far foward...is it a pistol scope?

Ton45
Which scope is that, I put the UTG compact 6x on mine and had bring it back a fair ways to get proper eye relief.

The mounts a BKL and I'm curious about the relief as well......looks like it could be mounted behind the open action as well for a more traditional location.
I think BKL is back in business now but they were closed for a bit a while back...

I also thought that having a scope on it defeated the compactness of the rifle BUT accuracy has increased dramatically with these old and tired eyes using optics. I rather hit than miss when it really counts and optics does help ALLOT.

Yes it's a BKL mount and the scope is a BSA Deer hunter 2.5x with a long eye relief. 40$ at Le Baron. I like the fact with the scope a bit out of the way single loading it is much easier.

Not so thorough range report

Shooting was done in an indoor range, gun benched and sandbagged. I used my Leica 1200 Rangefinder to determine range. The trigger took up allot of slack until it broke but it was light and smooth. If it was crisp with a stronger mag power scope shots would be tighter. Scope is a BSA 2.5x with a heavy duplex reticle.

I used my iMac Photbooth camera to take the photos of the targets, thus the pink hue. Square grid on the targets is 1 inch.

The CCI HP-Subsonic was the most accurate bullets I used.

Didn't take pictures, but mine was getting good groups at 75yards with the crappy iron sights. I was highly impressed with the trigger. It's quite good for the price. Polishing the bolt makes a differance to the smoothness of the action.

ditto on the scope-I totally agree it would be BETTER if it DIDN'T have the scope-but I HAVE to have one-can't shoot with iron sights anymore...thanks for the information on both scope and mount.Has anybody filled the stock with rigid foam to stiffen it up and make it less''hollow'' feeling?

I did not fill my stock with rigid foam but I put closed cell foam in the rear butt stock to carry emergency ammo and an allen wrench to remove the scope. I'm thinking of adding a a little bottle of Otis juice and a bore snake.

I settled on a small scope on mine, as the sight radius was too short for accuracy, even after filing the front sight thinner.
Also the rear sight is flimsy and is easily pushed from side to side causing dramatic, 3" horizontal poi change at 25yds.
Failing a good peep sight, (which I'm picking up in a few days) A small scope just WORKS. Mind you I sure like the looks of that BSA one over my cheep Tasco.
I'd been having some trouble with the big 3-9x Bushnell Clearing the bolt and getting proper cheekweld and Eye relief, but once I put on this little Tasco my sister and I were getting 1/2" groups with Winchester 333 bulk and CCI subsonics.
