CZ OR GLOCK which one ??

Just be way of affirming what has already been said, in my limited experience, I have shot both a CZ and a Glock. The Glock felt totally uncomfortable to me and I knew it was not for me the instant I tried to aim with it. It felt like I had to hold it too high to get an accurate shot. I felt similarly about the SIG P229 which I always wanted until I shot one. By contrast, I felt the the CZ was very Hi Power like and pointable. I enjoyed shooting it. Whether or not a gun is "good" is only part of the equation. For what its worth, I think that until you hold them, and preferably shoot them, you will not really know which is best.

I am in the same boat as CZ Canuck I have a g22 and cz 75. I like both but the CZ does seem to fit me better . 9mm is cheap so I shoot it more .
P2

I've got both, but I end up shooting the Glock(s) more; very low maintenance, reasonable mag prices and a low bore axis for the Glock, but the CZ FEELS so nice in my hand. At the end of the day, only YOU can decide.

The CZ 75 Tactical Sport is the way to go if you want to shoot in the Standard division of IPSC. It has better balanced with a full length dust cover and trigger adjustment both fore and aft cound not be easier.

I started with a Glock 17, and it's a great gun. Durable and accurate just as they say, and taking it apart down to the last component, cleaning, and reassembling is incredibly easy-- I'm wary of any gun I can't fully detail strip the slide on, especially those with roll pins. It's a tough gun, but just because you CAN abuse it doesn't mean you SHOULD. Still, using a Glock means never worrying that you're getting dust or water in your gun, or being afraid you under-lubed it. It's also very easy to repair with the inexpensive drop-in parts. The 2-stage trigger isn't bad per se (I prefer it, but many don't) but it does teach you very good trigger control with the heavy weight required to break it. I'd easily recommend it as a first gun, especially if you're unable to find a gunsmith in your area.

After all that, I've tried a CZ-75 a couple times, and it fits my hand extremely well, and seems to force my shots straight into the bullseye. They're also very cheaply priced for a semiauto pistol. It's a great gun, and if I'm ever in the market for another handgun, that's it. You MAY have problems with the slide stop lever breaking if you shoot overpowered ammo, where the Glock just eats it up. The barrel is also traditionally rifled, so WAY down the road, it may wear out faster. Still, both problems aren't exactly common or expensive to fix, and you're getting a great gun either way.

So I don't have a clear answer for you, but hopefully that shows a few more aspects of each. I don't regret getting the Glock for a second, but if you got the CZ, you wouldn't be undergunned at all.

I owned a CZ75 in the mid 1980's and I really liked it except I found the sights on the small side and the trigger a little spongy. I sold it for a S&W 5906 in the early 1990's--I liked looks, the balance, the single action trigger pull, and the sights on the 5906, but found that I just couldn't shoot the thing worth a damn. Around the same time my Dad had a G17, and one day at the range asked if I wanted to try it. I didn't like the look of the Glock, or the sproingy sound when you dry fired it, the grip angle seemed weird and when I fired it the recoil seemed really snappy compared to the all-steel 9mm's that I had been used to. But, when I checked the target, to my surprise I found I had shot the damn thing really well and thought, hmmm...maybe I could get used to this freaky pistol.

I sold the 5906 and bought a G17 myself soon afterwards, and recently a G34 as well. They have really grown on me--accurate, very reliable, easy to strip and clean. That said, I still miss my CZ, and I would not hesitate at all in buying another, especially if the newer ones have improved sights or triggers. If you have a chance to shoot both, that would be best. You won't go wrong with either.

both are outstanding guns. i have never had a cz but from what i keep hearing they are what i would like to have as well.i have shot the cz and it is a design that is user friendly. i also like the glock, for its ease of operation and accuracy, that cz has as well. what i am trying to sa is flip aquarteror buy both!! i might!!

You gotta fiqure out for following:

Will you want to reload (lead?) That means reloading go CZ.

What gun do you like better? Glock is more is a like dislike so go shoot.

What cal??? Everyone keeps saying 9mm cheep. Damn guys I shoot 9mm because of gun ownership but never really like it. for an extra $2 for 50box i can buy .40s&w (factory rounds). Realoading??? no real diff in cost. I find 40 more fun to shoot. If your reloading maybe you want a .45ACP. Shooting factory load that .45 gets costly.

ISPC?? (production class pushes you to 9mm, gunna mod and not shoot PD you need .40)

And the rules of buying.
Play without shooting to rule out a pile,
Shoot (Try)
BUY as many as possible.

Keep in mind there are still a lot of others SIG, XD, 1911(many options), HK.
When you add up the cost of shotting an extra $200 on a gun is nothing when you factor in the sevral thousand $$$ of ammo you should be putting through it.

If you got a stratagy figure out the guns to fill your gaps. IE you fav IPSC PD 9mm. Your black defence gun. Your stainless gun. The different cals avail since your want one of each cal (if you want a HK buy the call you really wanta own in it) instead of trying to get a allround fits all roles. Get your stratagy of your perfect collection overall and pick the most needed.

happy purchases.

My choice G22 or CZ75 (SA or tactical sports)

try each, pick the one which feels better in your hand

+1

I'd buy a CZ... er Baby Eagle....

Here's my baby eagle. 1000s rounds through it so far w/o any jam. Accurate and easy to clean.

I have both; a Glock 22 (huge list of extras installed) and CZ-75B (some work; but still IPSC production legal)

Both are great guns.

To shoot IPSC Production; I chose the CZ. It's tapered magazines are easier to reload and I find that the barrel axis / beavertail sits more like a 1911 - which is my comfort zone. I also like that I could adjust the single action pull down to 2.25 lbs.

The glock, on the other hand - was on my hip with one in the pipe everywhere I went in South Africa - I wouldn't carry something I didn't trust and respect. It still finds its way to the range with me on non-practice times. (Note: I didn't sell guns back when I went to SA- I might have another choice now - but it's irrelevant to this thread. )

It really is a personal choice...

Sean.
