Yes - the hogback is great for iron sights (other straight styles are such that you cant even get close to using the supplied iron sights).
However with a scope, you have a chin weld more than a cheek weld. That is not fatal - it is just a different style of shooting. More of a quick, heads up, shot style rather than a prone, long range style.
I use them when I think I may shed the scope and go with the irons - on my 416 for instance.
I use a neoprene shell holder with a 1/2 inch pad under it to raise the comb when the scope is in use for a little more weld - but if I must shed the scope, the pad can come off in seconds.
